English101 Posted October 13, 2014 #101 Share Posted October 13, 2014 I really feel bad for the 4400 passengers on board Breakaway tonight . . . their minds are filled with all the things they need to do for debarkation, packing and transportation home. I have been there and felt that pain. . .The good thing however is that I will be sailing tomorrow (rain or shine). My plan is to be at the pier by around 11AM. I am hoping that the traffic is not too bad tomorrow as I know sometime Manhattan can be a headache. . Looking forward to reading your live review. I was one of those passengers last night. I literally cried on my H6 balcony last night! :( we had an amazing week! Hope to do it again one day. Hopefully I don't get too depressed reading your review! HowardK Posted October 13, 2014 #102 Share Posted October 13, 2014 Watched the sailaway and waved. Mark, did you see the Maersk Line freighter cross your bow in the harbor? From the camera angle, it looked like she was heading right toward Breakaway. Phew, glad she missed you. Hope you have a great cruise, no bad weather issues and looking forward to your review. Luvs I saw that as well; it looked to close for comfort.

Rare Radio Posted October 13, 2014 Author #104 Share Posted October 13, 2014 Hello everyone. . . Welcome to an evening edition of “LIVE” from Norwegian Breakaway on Day 1. It seems that a bus load of passengers kept the Captain from leaving on time today as we left Pier 88 about 45 min late. It was suggested that it will not cause delays as we head down to Port Canaveral on Tuesday. Right after we left the pier I started to walk around to see what I could see. I am not familiar with this class of ship . . . but give me 24 hrs to get my brain straight on where things are on which deck. I really love the layout, and I think it will become easy to figure out after I make a few wrong turns. I had dinner tonight up in the Haven Restaurant and I can imagine myself dining there often this week. There seems to be a lot of Cruise Critic Roll call members staying in Haven Suites as well so I am sure I will be able to meet many of them tomorrow at our M&G. The iConcierge App works very nicely on my device, and my iPad. It seems that the MB plan is back in action on Breakaway as a test, and I really love it. The cost is 1GB (1000MB) for $89. The speeds are nice and I was able to send many pics to my server, and I am able to use this service on my Laptop, Device, or iPad. There is a Log in that must be used as you register each device. I only was able to catch a few moments of the Welcome Aboard Show, but it seems that NCL is very proud of the entertainment that is being offered, and the performers seem happy to be here. I have a lot of shows and dining to experience this week, so I may comment on the ones that I find enjoyable. Here are a few pics from today. . .More pics tomorrow. Thanks for tuning in. . . . Radio The Vibe Beach Club looks very inviting I may find myself trying some Mini Golf this week I love the long balcony for my cabin on Deck14 Norwegian Breakaway pulls away from Pier 88 slowly AIDAbella (Pier 92), Seven Seas Navigator (Pier 90), and AIDAluna (Pier88) against a Manhattan skyline. . . We say goodbye to the Statue of Liberty for a few days. . . .

It’s time to “watch the news” Radio We pass just under the Verrazano Narrows Bridge I love the Waterfront concept on Deck 8 The Hydro Pool /Spa on Deck 15 I love the NEW Megabyte Plans I walk past La Cucina (Deck 8) on the way down to Breakaway Casino The lights on Deck 15 looks like an event may be starting . LorraineP Posted October 13, 2014 #110 Share Posted October 13, 2014 Radio, are you in a Haven Spa cabin. I will be on the Breakaway Cabin 14136 in June and was wondering if I would be able to request one lounge chair for that narrow balcony?
cruzinlady1947 Posted October 13, 2014 #111 Share Posted October 13, 2014 Good morning Radio.....I noticed yesterday when you were sailing down the Hudson, that it looked like the Breakaway didn't have a covered Promenade deck to sit on or walk around. Is this the case? That would be really disappointing to me. I love the Promenade decks on Royal. Love just sitting there (under cover) and watch the world go by. Plus like walking on that deck, away from the sun. Other than that, the ship looks great. Can't wait to see the rest of it. Your pictures are great, as always. Thanks and I hope you have great weather and a great cruise. :D Gwen :)

Rare Radio Posted October 13, 2014 Author #114 Share Posted October 13, 2014 (edited) Hello everyone . . . Good morning and welcome to DAY 2 of “LIVE” from Norwegian Breakaway. I had a good sleep last night (even after I consumed a very large Hot Fudge Sundae). I am not a big fan of the programming that is onboard, but it will due for a few night. I awakened promptly this morning at Radio dark 30 (5AM), and wandered around a bit to see what I could see. The ship is very quiet that early. . .as it should be, but I was surprised to see that the Casino was still open. It has been suggested that the Slots will never close until we arrive at a port of call. I missed the Port and shopping talk this morning, but I have a Meet and Mingle at 11 which I will attend. I might be able to make it to “Secrets of a flatter stomach” class later today. Actually, today will be a day of rest and relaxation. . .after all, isn’t that was a cruise is for? I have been invited to an Officers party later tonight, and I should be able to see the “Burn the Floor” spectacular in the Stardust Theatre later tonight. We are currently 489 nm from Port Canaveral (about 30nm East of Cape Hatteras, NC). . .we should arrive at PC by 12PM tomorrow. It is currently cloudy and rainy, but the sun looks like she wants to come through. . .We will have to see what happens. Here are a few pics from this morning. . .Thanks for tuning in. Radio The Garden Café was closed at “Radio Dark30” The sun is starting to come out a little The day started better than it is now. . .Ooops I need to find out when the Glow party is Uh oh. . .Heavy clouds are rolling in Here is our current position . Allie322 Posted October 13, 2014 #116 Share Posted October 13, 2014 I'll be going aboard as you are debarking. Can't wait! Quick question for you: On the picture that is captioned "Heavy clouds rolling in"---from what vantage point did you take this photo? I am hoping that my balcony is a little more private than some of those that you can see right into:eek: Thanks, looking forward to keeping up with your journey. English101 Posted October 13, 2014 #121 Share Posted October 13, 2014 Last week, the Glow Party was Thursday night at 10:30. I was surprised that fireworks were Wednesday night at 8:30. I had always heard that the 80s party started at 10:30 and fireworks were at 11:15.
