"Drinks on us"

My wive is an inveterate gambler and gets DOU on boarding. We also get Cheers, and the DOU does not count on the Cheers in any way. My wife does feel that using the Cheers when in the casino service is faster than DOU. Many times, our regular bartender would give my wife a drink on her DOU pass rather than Cheers.

I am aware that the Drinks On Us is only valid while you are playing. I also have no intention of cancelling my Cheers when if I obtain it, was just curious how it worked if you already had Cheers. Thanks for the replies.

If you have both Cheers and Drinks on Us, when you order in the casino you may wish to tell the server to charge Drinks on Us. I have seen reports on here of servers charging Cheers in the casino for folks who also had Drinks on Us cards, thereby counting against their daily Cheers limit.

We just got off the Miracle and had the Drinks on Us card through the Premier Casino cruise promotion and also bought Cheers. The drinks in the casino did NOT count towards our 15. One night DH hit his 15 in the wee hours and then just went to the casino bar. No problems at all and I would still get Cheers if I had the DOU card. This was our experience and someone else may have experienced something other than this.

From a DOU perspective, I had a DOU card on my last cruise last summer.

I spent much of a day in the casino and 1 particular server brought me 3 drinks on my DOU card. I didn't tip and service was "MEH"... I saw him weaving around the casino servicing the floor and needed a refill and he only occasionally visited me and only brought me perhaps 2 refills, and long after I was looking for him (each time.)

I didn't tip the server only because I had no cash on my person.

I left for the cabin and came back a short time later, this time with cash in my pocket (I felt bad about not tipping the server.) This time I was serviced by a new server and now that I had cash in my pocket, I tipped the (new) server $1 each time he brought me a DOU beverage, starting with the first one he brought. He was proactively bringing me mojitos without even being asked, even before I was empty.

Trust me, a TIP makes all the difference in the world (I've noticed this same behavior even in the past guest party.)

You can write in a tip on the DOU slip you sign and I agree, a $1 bought me a constant stream of drinks.

Honestly I am not sure and will follow this thread. I have seen a question about cancelling the Cheers program after obtaining the DOU and the response was, NO And remember the DOU is only good when you are in the casino and gambling.

They do scan your card with DOU, they bring a $0 receipt for you to sign. I always tip in chips/cash, so its funny to see my S&S bill with a whole mess load of Casino Bar $0 at the end.

I had a DOU card back in February. I thought the servers were very attentive. I put a dollar tip on each receipt for the free drinks but I noticed others at my table with DOU didn't. I wasn't sure if they'd be tipped or not so I wanted to tip. The receipt they bring you, allows you to tip on the s&s card.
