recent NOS Pinnacles and suites ?

On recent NOS cruises, was there a special dinner with ship officers held in the WJ for Pinnacles and GS and up suites? If so, please advise the menu. In Sept. our Pinnacle friends were invited to this and told us there was both steak and lobster tail and very good wines with dinner. We are in a GS on Nov. 30 and hope this experience is repeated. This was instead of the usual cocktail party with the Captain and other officers which is held on most ships for suites and Pinnacles.

I know that this doesn't pretain to NOS, but we had this same type dinner on Explorer in September. The dinner was held in the WJ and the Head Chef gave us a brief description of what he had prepared.

Along with other items, Lobster was prepared 5 different ways. Problem was that after sitting in the warming trays, the lobster tails became very rubbery. Hopefully you will have better luck. Edited by cruisenfever

Thanks, Patti. Our friends said the NOS experience was the first time they had seen this dinner. Perhaps, since you experienced this on Exploror in Sept., all the ships are moving to this event instead of the cocktails with officers.

We first experienced this type dinner on Explorer (02 Dec 2013). We were told it was "something new" they were trying. We have seen it on every Explorer cruise since then.

I do not usually eat lobster on cruise ships (too difficult to get it properly cooked). Many folks said that it was delicious -- to each his/her own. My fillet and shrimp were wonderful. :)

On the Navigator, it was something promoted by the HD, Robert Taggart. He is now on holiday, so it's not surprising that the ship has stopped the special dinners.

The dinners were incredible, and my DW, on our last cruise enjoyed 4 lobster tails, and said that they were some of the best that she has ever tried.

To the OP, we will be with you on November 30th!!:)

It was a buffet . but a excellent buffet. Food was truly great, lobster , steak, rack of lamb, There was a ship officer at each table , I sat next to the women in charge of booking the future cruises, Captain was also there. Wine was good but not great, being in a suite gives you a better chance to dinner with the captain, which we were invited to, wine at that dinner was excellent. Have a great cruise and enjoty the GS we did and we booked a few more.
