Meeting Place on Diamond Princess

Hi All,

 

Going on my first cruise on the Diamond Princess on Sept 10. Can anyone who knows the ship recommend a good meeting place for CC'ers to meet and say hello sometime on our first sea day?

Our CC meeting place was Skywalkers on our first day at sea at about 2pm. The place was empty so that was good but the bars were not open so that was a bummer coz we ended up chatting for a good couple of hours.

The Wheelhouse bar/lounge would be a good place as long as it doesn't coinside with an event that is scheduled in there at the same time. Open deck areas can be hard to find space and for people to hear each other so IMO an inside area is more private.

This is just a suggestion, whether it works or not will depend on the person... If you have a large group going you may want to email the CD on the ship before you go and let them know you want to have a get together, some will go out of their way to help.

The Outrigger bar is where our CC group met. It was the Sapphire but they are sister ships and the area worked out really well. Beautiful views while leaving port, and plenty of tables and chairs and the bar was open.

If you wait till early evening Skywalkers bar will probably be open but if it's a nice day people will want to be outside so second the aft pool area... or have an informal get together the first day and then an "official" meeting second day when all are settled in etc.??? Skywalkers is open pretty much all day from I think noon on (or maybe earlier) every day esp. at sea.
