CasinoCruzGirl Posted November 5, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 5, 2014 (edited) My DH owns his own business and needs to have phone access at least a couple of times a day. I have told him to leave a message on his phone for people to email him that he's out of the country blah blah blah. You have no idea how and what I had to go through to get him to go on this vacation. He NEVER takes s vacation. He thinks the world will end if he doesn't answer his phone. Anyway here's my question. I have called Verizon and they said yes NCL has a tower on board and gave me the phone # to call the day before we sail to get the international plan. It will be $2.50'per minute for his calls but is ncl also going to change us? Or is it just Verizon that is involved. I'm so dreading this bill but he's gotta do what he's gotta do. His business is what lets ME take my vacations lol Thanks for the information. Edited November 5, 2014 by FootballParent
Baseball fan Posted November 5, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 5, 2014 (edited) NCL won't charge you if you don't use their phone for calls. He can buy a data package to use the internet to check email. I haven't used it before but I sure you could find the prices online. I use my phone when traveling. You will be billed directly by Verizon Wireless, there will be no charge from NCL to use your cell phone for phone calls on the ship.

garycarla Posted November 5, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 5, 2014 1 - There is no "plan" for calls onboard. That plan Verizon mentioned MIGHT give a discount in certain countries. Calls onboard will show on VZ bill at $.249 a minute. 2 - Yes, you can get internet onboard. If his phone rings all the time, and not from regular callers he can inform, then the bill could run up. If it is certain people and they know the deal, they can just stop calling and text ($.50) and email.

Yeah I plan on making him leave a message on his phone that people should either email him or text him. He also needs to make sure the people he talks to most know the deal. I guess he doesn't want to miss new business and he's in the tradeshow business and I know he has one show going on during the cruise. He ships the stuff and if it gets lost that's when there could be a problem. Hoping it all goes smooth then he can take more vacations with me.
