hallasm Posted November 5, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 5, 2014 Quantum of the Seas made a brief emergency stop at Porta Delgata, on São Miguel Island at the Azores, Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at noon. A passenger had become ill and rapid hospitalisation was necessary. The sick passengers were taken from the ship by the local pilot boat and brought to a hospital in Porta Delgata after which Quantum of the Seas proceeded her maiden voyage towards Cape Liberty, NJ. Sky616 Posted November 5, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 5, 2014 Wow hope the person will be ok. The Azores look stunning. Thanks for sharing. I thought the Quantum was taking a more northerly route according to sea scanner.
DEIx15x8 Posted November 5, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 5, 2014 Thanks for sharing. Wonder if anyone got a lucky North Star ride while there. Won't be long until the Anthem or Ovation start making stops there. Hope that passenger is going to be alright. Looked like they had a full head and neck restraint on him. Hope he didn't fall during the rougher seas and hurt his neck.

Hope he didn't fall during the rougher seas and hurt his neck. He either did have a fall and is in full spinal precaution (must of been complaining of neck or back pain) or he's in a bucket for easier movement Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Sea is much better now than Monday!
HiCSailor Posted November 6, 2014 #6 Share Posted November 6, 2014 I saw in another thread that the captain reported the needed operation was completed and that the patient was recovering nicely.
QuantumCruiserAu Posted November 9, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 9, 2014 what else would he tell you? the guy died because of what happened or that he will never walk again? - of course he is going to tell you - so that it has a happy ending... unlike the girl that apparently died on a RCI ship on this website ( search for the post - Monica of Roselle Park, NJ on March 11, 2014 ) http://www.consumeraffairs.com/travel/royal_caribbean.htm?page=
