Jaxie123 Posted November 6, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2014 Can anyone tell me if either of these cabins have metal railings? We are planning a family trip and have found a really good deal on these cabins which have larger balconies; however, before booking we want to make certain the railings are made of plexiglass. Princess Patches Posted November 6, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 6, 2014 Plexiglass. The reason those cabins are cheaper is that you get more wind and movement at the bow. You might also be disturbed by the sound of the waves slapping against the hull and the sound of the anchor dropping.
Jaxie123 Posted November 6, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted November 6, 2014 Thank you so much! Can you also tell me if C706 and C708 get more movement because of the cavitation? Is forward or aft better for less movement?
BDRebel Posted November 6, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 6, 2014 Center = least movement. The more forward or aft, the more movement. Also, the far forward gets more movement than the far aft.
Princess Patches Posted November 6, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 6, 2014 (edited) No contest. Choose C706 and C708 for several reasons. There will be a lot less movement in those cabins. There is less movement aft than forward. Also C706/708 are not all the way aft whereas C101/102 are all the way forward (the very front of the bow). It could be very bumpy and windy at the bow especially if the weather does not cooperate. C706/708 are more conveniently located. They are near the elevator and you will have easy access to the buffet and the main dining room, which are both aft. Last C706/708 are next door to each other rather than on opposing sides of the ship like C101/102, which will be handy since you are family traveling together. There is a door between the balconies that can be propped open so you can have easy access to each other's cabins if you wish.
