mjp0499 Posted November 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2014 We have mainly sailed Carnival. When on Carnival you can go to the purser's desk and get a free deck of cards. Can you do this on NCL?
rvsullivan Posted November 11, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 11, 2014 You could in the past, but no longer. They are available for purchase.
MagnoliaBlossom Posted November 11, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 11, 2014 On some ships they are available in the game room, but if you want a deck, get there the first day or they will be gone. We always keep a deck in our carry on just in case. Plus I know who has been touching mine.
Sauer-kraut Posted November 11, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 11, 2014 The last time I went and got a deck, they had stopped giving out NCL logo ones for just a plain deck of Bicycle brand. :I
ashleysj Posted November 11, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 11, 2014 Depending on the ship, if you participate in on-board Cruise staff activities like daily trivia you can win a deck of NCL logo playing cards. On the Epic, if you participate in any games, you got an activities card from the Cruise Staff and that can be redeemed at the end of the cruise for NCL playing cards, NCL coffee mug, NCL beach bag, ect. Believe me you don't want 'those' deck of cards. They're like playing with paper - as they are paper thin. I always through a deck of cards into my suitcase from home. I know they're quality and know where they've been and who's touched them. LOL But....if you forget the library usually has cards there for your use. Sadly, those that use them and/or borrow them don't always return them even though they are not 'NCL' playing cards. Harriet
pizzalady1 Posted November 11, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 11, 2014 We had our Sun M&G in the Las Ramblas Tapas Bar and there we about 8-10 brand new packs of cards sitting one of the tables. The M&G cruisers grabbed them up fast!

rvsullivan Posted November 11, 2014 #9 Share Posted November 11, 2014 On some ships they are available in the game room, but if you want a deck, get there the first day or they will be gone. We always keep a deck in our carry on just in case. Plus I know who has been touching mine. And you know they are to be left there for others? The reason there aren't many cards around is folks pick them up and take them. The ones in the card/game room are for everyone.
mugtech Posted November 11, 2014 #10 Share Posted November 11, 2014 I have always been very successful playing cards on cruises, perhaps because I bring my own marked deck.

bahamaman Posted November 17, 2014 #14 Share Posted November 17, 2014 I've often gotten a "game used deck" in the casino for a dollar or two. I have done this in both casino's at sea and on land. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
