60andhappy Posted November 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2014 We are on the Disney Magic Jan4-11 2015 cruise and I am considering Executive Vip Limo for our transfer from the port to Orlando airport. We are four adults and one child. Any opinions or suggestions would be most welcome.
1025cruise Posted November 11, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 11, 2014 Have you checked the Florida Departures Board? This is discussed quite often.
moki'smommy Posted November 11, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 11, 2014 There are many good companies. I'm not familiar with this one.
jody Posted November 13, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 13, 2014 We found it most affordable to do a one way car rental. It might be worth it to compare the cost.
bear3412 Posted November 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 13, 2014 Executive VIP is an awesome company. We used them a couple years ago and were very pleased. We used them locally along the shore in and around Cocoa. HTH
moki'smommy Posted November 13, 2014 #6 Share Posted November 13, 2014 Essentially, you have to weigh cost vs. convenience. There is no question that a one way car rental is the cheapest, but it is not the most convenient--from the cruise terminal, either the driver or all need to go to the rental place (often standing in line and waiting for a shuttle), gas up the car on the way to the airport, and return it (a simple process, but still takes a minute). And for 4 adults + 1 child + luggage, you are probably looking at a minivan or small SUV. DCL transfers are the most convenient if you are using a participating airline. You place your luggage outside the cabin at night and see it at your home airport. But the cost is $35 per person each leg. A private limo service is about the cost of DCL transfers for 4, but the driver picks you up as close to the terminal as they can get and drops you at your airline. No waiting for the bus to fill. But you still have to check in yourself and your luggage at the airport.
Rare Scrapnana Posted November 13, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 13, 2014 We used Executive VIP from WDW to Port Canaveral. They were great. We rented a van (3 adults and two kids - one in a car seat) on the way back. The car rental was about $50 cheaper.
