vcdarty Posted November 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 26, 2014 What experience have you had with Guest Relations? I emailed them a week ago about MDR table assignments and a hair appointment for an upcoming cruise. No reply yet, save for a boilerplate automatic acknowledgement. On other lines I've received a reply in a day or two. What gives?
DeeniEncinitas Posted November 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 26, 2014 No problem here! Call! I personally find calling and speaking with a HAL rep gets me where I want. Kim Swenson is who I always will ask for she is Awsome and gets every detail done for me and an email responds. I have worked with her for over 7 years now. Aruba Posted November 26, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 26, 2014 You emailed Guest Relations about a hair appointment? That's something that can be arranged on-line by accessing your reservation. Maybe there's something more to the story, but I don't think Guest Relations would consider an email about a hair appointment to be high on their priority list. indokiwi Posted November 26, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 26, 2014 You most likely have not heard from Guest Relations because 1. they seem to always work a few weeks behind and 2. they only really deal with issues post-cruise (like complaints). I am pretty sure that if you continue to wait for the 3-4 weeks that it normally takes for a response you will most likely only get a "you contacted the wrong department and here is the correct one to call" and you would have basically wasted your time. I would call Ship Services or the general reservations line instead and ask to be connected to the correct department.
vcdarty Posted November 26, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted November 26, 2014 Righto, indokiwi. Just spoke to Guest Relations and got a polite referral to Ships' Services in Seattle: 800-541-1576. Problem, I hope, solved. On other lines (Cunard, Crystal) 'twas quicker.
vcdarty Posted November 26, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted November 26, 2014 Oh, and Aruba, oddly enough you cannot make hair salon reservations online using the booking number. I tried a while back. Only Spa services, and that does not include hair affairs . . . .
sail7seas Posted November 26, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 26, 2014 Righto, indokiwi. Just spoke to Guest Relations and got a polite referral to Ships' Services in Seattle: 800-541-1576. Problem, I hope, solved. On other lines (Cunard, Crystal) 'twas quicker. You didn't know it but you originally contacted the wrong department. Ship's Services is the one that handles those sort of requests for HAL. Most of us find them very helpful. :)
