My Magic 8 ball says you'll see here there come November 2016, yes. She very likely won't stay in Europe through the slow season, and the only other logical place to put her is the Caribbean.

To answer the questions about my switch from RCCL, I'm booked for Dec, 2015, but wouldn't be cruising again till 2017. I looked at the You Tube features on the Klonningsdam, and fell in love with what I saw. Beautiful ship.

IF she would do the Nieuw Amsterdam's itinerary, what itinerary do you think the Nieuw Amsterdam will do?

 

I don't follow the Alaska itineraries enough to know which ship it would replace, but through the rumor mill (or is it already fact/on CC, can't remember) the NA is going to Alaska.

Oops, guess that was probably already old news. I just looked at HAL's website and noticed the NA's last published voyage is a one way trip to Vancouver April 2016.

Just so nobody gets the wrong idea, St. Maarten is one of my favorite Caribbean ports and I always enjoy a quick walk to Fort San Cristobal in San Juan.

 

My point was just that the new ship always initially picks up the 7 day run to these islands, rather than longer sailings to more exotic ports.

 

Are there exotic ports in the Caribbean that big cruise ships can visit? :D :D

Just returned from CELEBRITY CONSTELLATION 9 night cruise that included St. Barts & St. Croix via a 91,000 ton ship as an example.

We visited St. Bart's three times..... all on Maasdam. :)

I agree St. Bart's is definitely a step up from many of the islands.

 

St. Croix....... not so much. We were last there about 2 years ago.

Sounds like you had a nice cruise on Constellation. Hope so. :)

What is it about Koningsdam that makes you eager to try HAL that current HAL ships are not offering?

 

 

I just watched a video of the ship on Facebook. The actors/actresses they used

Sipping drinks, dancing, on their veranda

Weren't wearing crocs and sweat pants.

 

That certainly lured me in
