Just take a txi or the bus from the cruise port to the malecon in Mahahual ($3 pp; $2 pp return) and walk along the malecon and select a beach area that looks good to you with out a lot of party/hearty going on. Blue Kay at the first taxi stop, Tropicante, YaYas, Pez Quadro toward the middle of the malecon are good suggestions. All have loungers and good food and good service. None have water toys (Those are at Tequila Beach), just sand and shallow water. But all are long the same stretch of sand easily walked. Plenty of reviews on this board. Oh, none have "entry fees" just buy something to eat or drink while you're there.

Check out my review on Blue Kay. There's tons of pictures in it. It's a beautiful place, calm shallow water, free entry-just eat and buy drinks there and you are good to go. We ate and drank all day for the 3 of us (6 year old daughter) and it was only $48 for the entire day.

You can find my review in my signature line under Costa Maya. :)
