ma23peas Posted December 29, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2014 Our first and likely only trip to Cozumel...we'll have a 19, 17, and 16...we have not had the opportunity to do a lot of water sports, but kids would love to...also love cultural/historical/scenic...what would you recommend? Will be there in early May, thanks!
Rare crewsweeper Posted December 29, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2014 Perhaps a hire the driver for the day (see the thread on this board for contact information) and get a tour of the island, the east side, the San Gervasio ruins, the chocolate factory in the back of San Miguel, etc. You can also try Chankanaab Park and Discover Mexico just before the park's entrance. Separate entrance fees, but you can get a discount to both at the Discover Mexico ticket booth. Lots of different things to see or do in addition pure beach/water activities. For a larger group, the hire the driver route might be less expensive, IMO.
Rare Lionesss Posted December 29, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 29, 2014 We have done on different cruises two underwater excursions. SNUBA which is great if you do not already scuba dive. And The Helmet dive. We had fun and have alot of great pictures. Sea Ya
JohninDC Posted December 29, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 29, 2014 Coz is an island so most of the action centers around the water and the beach. With teens that age I would head to either Paradise Beach or Mr. Sanchos, pay extra for the water toys (about $15 each) and consider jet skis, parasail, etc. While they are busy doing all of that you can relax and order another margarita! :D

labsnabys Posted December 30, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 30, 2014 We were at Paradise Beach last week with our teens ages 13 and 15, and they had a blast. There are kayaks, a huge variety of floating inflatable climbing structures and trampolines, and many other water toys (stand up paddle board, etc.). In addition, there are snorkeling outfitters right on their little dock if you wish to do that. The cost was reasonable ($3 entry fee plus $15 for all of the water toys). ma23peas Posted December 31, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted December 31, 2014 Thanks so much! Is there a cab fare to get 5 of us over to these places? Both sound like winners...thanks so much for the help!
labsnabys Posted January 1, 2015 #8 Share Posted January 1, 2015 Thanks so much! Is there a cab fare to get 5 of us over to these places? Both sound like winners...thanks so much for the help! We grabbed a taxi right from the Puerta Maya area where Carnival docks - they have the cost to various locations posted on a sign at the taxi stand. It cost us $15 (US) each way for our family of 4. Have a great cruise!
JohninDC Posted January 1, 2015 #9 Share Posted January 1, 2015 Thanks so much! Is there a cab fare to get 5 of us over to these places? Both sound like winners...thanks so much for the help! There will be a sign near the taxi line by whatever pier you are at with the posted fares to all the popular tourist spots - should be about $20+tip for 5 in a cab. Check the sign and verify the fare with the driver BEFORE you get into the cab.
crystal1010 Posted January 2, 2015 #10 Share Posted January 2, 2015 Consider the AMAZING RACE shore excursion....scavenger hunt like the TV show. You get to see many areas you normally would not visit. Great fun!
