orlando airport late arrival- shuttle to cocoa beach area?

Until this morning I had no idea MCO was an hour from Port Canaveral. I'm trying to figure out the easiest and least expensive way to get from Orlando international to port canaveral. We're flying in the night before and arriving late, 9:30pm. I was hoping to stay at the comfort inn or similar in the cocoa beach area and then take a shuttle or cab to the port by 930 or 10am because we have fttf and would like to utilize boarding as early as possible. Lots of people recommend renting a car but I'm seeing prices no lower than $85 so far and I'm not sure how time efficient returning the car in the morning will be. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm not sure if the shuttles run that late or if any hotels in the area even offer any. Thanks for any suggestions you can offer.

I would contact Cocoa Beach Shuttle or Travelynx.

stay at an airport hotel with a free shuttle and arrange an early pickup with a beach shuttle in the morning . . . .

Listen to the CAPT - stay near MCO and make your way to PC early the next morning. I would keep shopping for a car rental.

We have the same issue and are leaning toward an airport hotel and going to the port in the morning. I've found much cheaper rooms at MCO too, especially on Hotwire.

Our group usually stay at Staybridge Suites by MCO and use

Executive vip limo from the hotel to the Port the next morning.
