I noticed on the marine traffic site that since December 20th a lot of ships are staying in different ports. Are there any river cruises after the Christmas markets and before March ??

As far as I know: No. Crews go home for a well deserved vacation. Ships are refurbished. Weather is horrible. Days are short.

Hello,

As far as I know: No. Crews go home for a well deserved vacation. Ships are refurbished. Weather is horrible. Days are short.

just to add to that: cruises do run into January with some European companies offering short trips of up to five days. They all seem to stop around 10 January. This appears to apply to all destinations in Europe, as far as I have seen. Only exception I could find is CroisiEurope's small ship MS Raymonde touring the Paris canals.

River cruises in Egypt, Brasil and Asia are available throughout January and February.

Water levels rising fast, grey and foggy weather. Good day for spending on the sofa in front of the television, if I did not have to work. :(
