JohnSpo Posted January 9, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2015 (edited) You should try the waterfront restaurant "Jeanie's". Excellent and fresh authentic Mexican food. It is on the main street Avenida Rafael E Melgar which is the main avenue just outside the Downtown Cruise Terminal/shopping area. Turn left on Avenida Rafael E Melgar, walk about 5 to 10 minutes and Jeanie's is on the right (water) side. Jeanie's serves breakfast, lunch and dinner at good prices with great drink specials. You will enjoy a nice meal/drinks with excellent service right on the water in a more relaxed/quiet atmosphere than the restaurants near the Downtown Cruise Terminal/shopping area. Check out their website using "Jeanie's restaurant Cozumel" in Google. I had an awesome lunch with drinks and enjoyed the beautiful view of the water. I will definitely be going back later this month. Give it a try and enjoy Cozumel. Edited January 9, 2015 by JohnSpo

ABQrobin Posted January 9, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 9, 2015 La Choza look it up on Trip Advisor for photos of food, map of location, etc. Really really good food.
mrsfuzzmo Posted January 9, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 9, 2015 Go to Wet Wendy's for a GIANT frozen margarita made with all kinds of fresh/cooky ingredients!!
Rare crewsweeper Posted January 9, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 9, 2015 Other great downtown restaurants are Casa Denis, just east of the downtown plaza, which is great to walk around in. La Mission which is on the corner of Rafael Melgar and Calle 5 Sur. Many cruisers enjoy Pancho's Backyard which has a branch at the Puerta Maya pier as well as downtown in the Cinco Soles store north of the ferry pier. And if you want more local flavor, and are walking around downtown check out El Mercado, the public market just a couple of blocks east of the plaza or one of the loncherias like Las Flamitas near by. mrsfuzzmo Posted January 12, 2015 #11 Share Posted January 12, 2015 How is the food at Wet Wendy's? We only had a "liquid lunch". I've heard good things about it, but we only had drinks.
akupupule Posted January 12, 2015 #12 Share Posted January 12, 2015 Definitely second LaChoza. Not too far from the plaza about 3 blocks fantastic real authentic Mexican food. You'll likely see crews from various ships there it is so popular. We ve eaten there numerous times and never failed to impress!
