Things to do in Nassau on a Sunday?

Sounds like you might be on the Oasis. Same schedule. We did this last year and felt a similar concern. We decided on a self-guided walking tour, hopped off the ship at 7am....and immediately realized our mistake. ZERO was open. It felt like a ghost town and even a bit scary, as you can imagine those people who ARE on the streets. We did pass by a couple of churches, and they were packed, so it was obvious where everyone was. It is their culture and Sunday is a laid back day, cruisers be danged. :)

By 9am, the very disappointing Pirate Museum was open, and by 10am, the very short sales pitch/John Watling Rum Distillery Tour was open. (Note: NOT the actual distillery anymore. Just a few buildings, a warehouse, ending up with a small rum taste and plenty of bottles of rum to buy. However, to their credit, the rum is flippin' awesome.)

As we wandered back towards the ship around 11am, more was open, but even the Straw Market was half-closed. Seriously, I would recommend a ship's excursion AWAY from downtown if you really want to do something. Or you can do what we plan this May with our son: Head off the ship around 10am, walk around (plan on actually getting the rum this time, though definitely skipping the pirate museum - total waste of $$), and then had back on board for a less-crowded Solarium and discounted spa treatments. :)
