Paulchili Posted January 26, 2015 #26 Share Posted January 26, 2015 (edited) To wake up on the island Christmas Day would have made for some great bragging rights;) Next best thing to waking up there on Easter morning :D Edited January 26, 2015 by Paulchili
dorisis Posted January 26, 2015 #27 Share Posted January 26, 2015 Brief synopsis, compared to HAL and Princess: In our experience, Princess had some hillbilly passengers and O had some snobs, but other than that, they were all really splendid people.:D Love that comparison. TOO TRUE!
Kingofcool1947 Posted January 26, 2015 #28 Share Posted January 26, 2015 (edited) Love that comparison. TOO TRUE! You mean the demographic includes a preponderence of snobs on Oceana cruises? Why is it more snobs on this particular cruise line? What draws more snobs to Oceana? We are new to ocean cruising, having sailed only a few cruises. 2 on Princess and 2 on Celebrity. What one would consider "mainstream" lines, not "luxury" like Oceana. On Princess, plenty of snobs (snooty and "privileged") types onboard. DW and I are considering a first time cruise on Oceana but we hate mingling or being around haughty people. Will we find more of those kind of people on Oceana cruises? Edited January 26, 2015 by Kingofcool1947

Glad to hear that Oceania is no better or worse than other lines. Having only cruised a couple of times with Princess and Celebrity, DW and I will definitely consider Oceania for our next cruise experience. :). And we can leave the "Formal Night" wear at home! Thanks.
Rare MVPinBoynton Posted January 26, 2015 #34 Share Posted January 26, 2015 I have found Oceania to have the best passengers o f the lines we have cruised. Most are well traveled and a pleasure to converse with.
no fuss travel Posted January 26, 2015 #35 Share Posted January 26, 2015 The old saying, you are stuck with your relatives, but you can pick your friends sort of applies while cruising. You are stuck with your cruise mates, but you don't have to take them home with you. We have met lots of wonderful people cruising on all the various lines we have sailed on, and yes, there are those who don't want to associate with others, but that is their choice and they are the losers because they don't get to meet lots of wonderful people. Some people though appear to be snobbish, but really in fact they are very shy and it is hard for them to reach out to others.:)

ceba Posted January 26, 2015 Author #37 Share Posted January 26, 2015 (edited) We "picked up" a couple at the airport and then 3 ladies after we boarded the ship. We really enjoyed them all. That never happens to us. We're not that friendly  ;) Edited January 26, 2015 by ceba
