Leisurely day shopping/walking

Is this possible in Aruba? We like to just take our time getting off the ship, not plan anything and just walk around, sight see, shop and take pictures of the local surroundings.

What kind of shopping will we find right off the ship and in the close walking distance from the ship? Maybe we can stop for a drink?

What do you guys suggest? We don't want a beach day and we don't really want to plan an excursion.

Of course! Right across from the dock is shopping, gambling, eating...whatever you want! You're looking at about a 4-5 block radius.

Google "stores oranjestad aruba" for types of stores. What you want to do is entirely doable but be prepared for the heat. ;)

Exactly what we did this past October...however after getting off the ship we did go on a 3 1/2 hour island tour first..so easy to do they were offering these for $20.00pp just outside the terminal doors (a spur of the minute decision)...that still left us plenty of time for walking around the shopping area before the stores closed at approx 6:00pm or at least the ones near the port did.
