Other than the Sanctuary, where is the best place to hang out on sea days to just enjoy the sea air, read, sleep and just relax. And also do you have to reserve a chair ridicuously early or is there something always available? Also this can be an inside location also. We will have 9 sea days on our next cruise!

No sea air but Skywalkers is great. Usually empty. :D

The Horizon Terrace area aft on Lido deck or down below around the Terrace Pool on Aloha deck. You can have sun or shade and a nice wake view. Usually no problem getting a lounger. Another option is the area around the Lap Pool forward on Sun deck. It is not part of the Spa and the area is adults only. Not a lot lot of sun or sea but the loungers are quite nice. The Promenade deck has chairs rather than loungers but it is fully covered and right next to the water. Skywalkers is a nice indoor area and quite during the day but there are only chairs. There are nice loungers in the covered Conservatory area on Sun deck above the Calypso Pool.

We have been on the Star for 58 days and were always able to find a lounge chair at any time. Lounge chairs in the shade around Neptune's reef Pool are the most difficult to find. The conservatory also fills fairly quickly.

My favorite place on any grand class ship is the lotus pool forward.

1) its adults only... no screaming children

2) its often nice and sunny there, but with some overhang if you want shade

3) most blue cards think its part of the Sanctuary and that you have to pay to use it

4) its hidden, so most people dont get to step 3

I have spend many of my sea days here reading a book and taking naps, the loungers are actually nicer than those by the other pools
