sh1955 Posted May 21, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2004 Need reviews from anyone who has been on this cruise. Good value for the money? Any appreciable difference between the Alto and Soprano decks besides the balcony? Is the balcony worth the extra money? Sailing on the Bizet. Any comments on the ship? Any insight appreciated. Thank you. newbie
Go Pack Posted February 13, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2010 We were on The Bizet 2 years ago and had a great time. The cruise is very nice, the crew very accommodating. Normandy & the surrounding area is VERY interesting. When you attend the US Military Cemetary you will be in awe of the facility and the ceremony they conduct for the GCT Group. Very moving. As for the deck location we never take a balcony, the rooms are smaller in size than the others. Get a room as close to the center of the boat as possible & the mid level deck is my favorite. You dop not spend very much time in your room, just be sure to get a big window room Alto Deck. Have fun John
Gsel Posted February 13, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 13, 2010 We did this trip on the Bizet last November and can't recommend it highly enough. The Bizet and her crew are wonderful. I really don't think the balcony cabins are worth the extra money as the balcony takes that much more space out of the cabin square footage and, as the previous poster mentioned, you don't spend that much time in your cabin anyway. It also takes a lot of your storage space away. The itinerary on this trip was great, we especially enjoyed Les Andelys and Honfleur, but I am sure you will find your own favorite. Food on the ship is wonderful, the chef does a great job and the wait-staff is efficient and friendly. You will find everyone from the Captain to the deck hands ready to make sure you have a great vacation. Our weather was perfectly awful, but we were met back at the boat many days with hot chocolate and hot towels served many days by the Captain himself, who could ask for better than that?
