pizzalady1 Posted February 6, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 6, 2015 (edited) From midnight to 5 a.m. there is a $3.95 service charge for room service. I thought the charge was only for a pizza? It is for all food by room service? Edited February 6, 2015 by pizzalady1
johnql Posted February 6, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 6, 2015 I thought the charge was only for a pizza? It is for all food by room service? Two separate items - there is a $5 fee for pizza delivery (anytime/anywhere on the ship). The $3.95 late-night charge is for deliveries between midnight and 5 am (to discourage lots of uneaten late-night orders). If you order the pizza after midnight, the $3.95 late-night charge is waived and replaced by the $5 fee.
Rare mking8288 Posted February 6, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 6, 2015 On the BA last year, there's usually something till midnight upstairs in the buffet - wings, burgers, hotdogs, mini-sandwiches, cookies, fruit, cake (maybe past midnight ... whereby we usually turn into pumpkins, LOL) There's always light snacks inside the casino area between 11 PM & midnight, check the ship's Dallies. And, there's always Blue Lagoon or O'Sheehans. No tipping necessary in our case as I was "Room Service" sent out to get whatever from one of the venue above. :D ;)

Not that we'll order between midnight and 5 am, but you never know! ;) Out of curiosity, how IS the pizza? DH loves his pizza, and I'm betting he'll want to order one at some point. Is it decent? DH loves his pizza, and I'm betting he'll want to order one at some point. Is it decent? As with any food questions, it's highly subjective. I personally thought the room service $5 pizzas were quite good. Large, hot, tasty with good toppings. JMHO
sixesandeights Posted February 6, 2015 #10 Share Posted February 6, 2015 We always added a pizza to orders after 12 because I would rather spend $5 and get a pizza that was actually pretty good, then spend $3.75 for nothing. We very much enjoyed the room service on the Epic. Everything we tried was very good. 6&

ilovetotravel1977 Posted February 23, 2015 #13 Share Posted February 23, 2015 In the link above, I didn't see the Breakfast room service menu. Can anyone provide that for me?
Rare mking8288 Posted February 23, 2015 #14 Share Posted February 23, 2015 The regular Room Service Breakfast Menu selection is very limited, unless you are in a Suite (or higher) - but, for some of us, it's more than enough to get going early (by stopping at the buffet or O'Sheehans/Blue Lagoon for hot entrees, since the MDR opened is usually closed by 9 or 9:30 am on sea days) I usually keep them but not the most recent one, too short & simple ... Look for the Order Form in the stateroom (passenger guide/booklet) & hang it outside the door by 4 AM; or, ask room steward for one. It's basicaly your hotel's quick/continental breakfast choice: (specific quantity or else you will get 1 yogurt, 1 creamer, etc.) On newer ships like the BA, an "online" list via ship's interactive TV option: Fruit Cereal Pastries (assorted) Toast (white or whole wheat) - butter/mag, jams & peanut butter Yogurt (plain or mixed fruits) Juice (OJ or Apple) Coffee (Reg/Decaf) Tea (Water w. Tea Bags) Milk (Reg/Low-Fat) It's always on time & you'll get a call saying it's on the way and a knock on the door in 5 minutes or less (hurry, get dress quick or put something on - LOL :D - and have that small tip ready)
PelicanBill Posted February 24, 2015 #15 Share Posted February 24, 2015 I get the $5 fee for a whole pizza delivered "anywhere anytime." Is there really no place to just get a slice of pizza? On other ships I would often go get a slice for a snack... my whole family may not want to share my late night craving!
hpecorari Posted February 24, 2015 #16 Share Posted February 24, 2015 It's always on time & you'll get a call saying it's on the way and a knock on the door in 5 minutes or less (hurry, get dress quick or put something on - LOL :D - and have that small tip ready) Just off the Sun - never got a call it was on it's way.... just a knock on the door 20 min. earlier than the time frame I requested,. I also have to say, that on every ship I've been on I've always asked for a bagel, cream cheese and smoked fish (lox) and have always received it. Not on the Sun. johnql Posted February 24, 2015 #17 Share Posted February 24, 2015 In the link above, I didn't see the Breakfast room service menu. Can anyone provide that for me? See link below. I posted the breakfast door hanger menu and the room service menu about 9 months ago. I'm pretty sure they haven't changed since then. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2044570

Rare mking8288 Posted February 24, 2015 #20 Share Posted February 24, 2015 (edited) The buffet usually has a pizza station that is open ... I thought it was ok. Yes, this !! Maybe not at breakfast time :D Agreed, it was just ok - sauce could be better & definitely need more cheese on top, for my taste. ;) Nightly, between say 9:30 and 11:30 PM - the buffet has snacks and hot soup, and assorted items (usually carried over from dinner + extras) finger sandwiches, sliders, burgers/dogs/fries, cookies, cakes, wings, small slices of pizza (or, cheese breads ??) - enough to make a full meal/late dinner out of it. I went upstairs & fill a plate, took it down to our room to munch on - on those nights with early "dinner" The freshly made 16" pizza for $5 delivered is rated good by some, a matter of preference, enough for 3 to 4 or more as snacks. The other "secret" place for free & simple/basic snacks late night - a little corner inside the casino area - check the Dailies for time. And, of course - O'Sheehans or Blue Lagoon.
