Extra night in a hotel before Dubai to Cape Town cruise.

We are booked on the Dubai to Cape Town cruise in November.

We will do the pre cruise tour of the 3 night Opulent Cities of the Emirates, but will fly in a day before this starts so will need to book an extra night.

The hotel states Ritz Carlton or equivalent and once we find out which one (guess it is the one in the business area - cheaper) would it be better to book it through Regent or get our TA or ourselves to do it?

What are the advantages of booking through Regent?

We are looking forward to the cruise and did start a roll call a month ago but there has been no interest. Anyone else going?

We stayed in Dubai for 1 night after our 2014 cruise. Stayed at the Hilton Dubai Creek. It's an easy cab ride from the airport and in an interesting area. Super nice and very quiet for sleeping. It's also RELATIVELY inexpensive - for Dubai! There a lot of nice hotels in Dubai and I think, except for the pre-cruise special, you can do better on your own than booking a hotel through Regent.
