FLL Hotels Near the Port

I am looking for any recommendations for hotels in Ft Lauderdale. Preferably a hotel that has shuttle service and one near a car rental company. Thanks

You may wish to look into Marriott Marina and Embassy Suites. Also Rennaissance --which may not have a shuttle to the port but a taxi would cost about $4.

The SE 17th Street hotels are less than 10 minutes from the airport and just outside the entrance to Port Everglades. It's a very safe area with everything you could possibly want within easy walking distance. Don't worry about shuttles, it's a $10 cab ride from the airport, less into Port Everglades, and many hotels are now charging for, or discontinuing shuttles.

When will the ridiculous 2006 rates disappear? For Feb. 2006. the Renaissance wants $399. Who in their right mind would paid $399 for the Renaissance?

We enjoyed the Hyatt Pier 66. Right across from the pier location, on the water taxi route and great property. No shuttle though and don't know about car rental locations either. Sorry.

We have stayed at the Embassy Suites many times both pre and post cruise.

It is true that some of the hotels are dropping shuttle service and others are charging a small fee.

Also keep in mind that the Embassy Suites will be begining a massive hotel renovation this September so that will mean that less rooms will be available.

We have a large group staying at the Holiday Inn Express Convention Center

this coming December 26th waiting to board the Radisson Seven Seas Voyager on the 27th. Free shuttle from the airport and very close to the port, and lots of places to eat all within walking distants.

I booked my pre-cruise stay on 11/18/05 at the Holiday Inn Express and thanks to your help I am very happy with my decision. I got it for $96 on the link you provided. The free airport transportation and great location near the port are perfect for us. The three of us are arriving on different flights so this hotel will save us three cab fares.

Hey Janisutx were did you get that rate. I tried to get a good rate for Feb 2006 and it was 128 dollars. Did you bid.

FYI, I am booked at the Embassy Suites next April and was concerned about the renovations being finished. I e-mailed them with my concerns and they assured me that all renovations will be completed by the end of this year. Jaxson

That article is about the renovations to the Hyatt Pier 66, I believe the poster was asking about the renovations at Embassy Suites.

 

Embassy Suites will begin renovating their rooms this month and they should be finished by January.

Thanks to TheWog! That link to info about Pier 66's renovation let me know that the revolving bar will no longer be available as such to the general public. It's becoming a special event area - weddings, etc.
