vanrrr Posted February 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2015 Reading so many negative reviews about chops. Should we switch the reservation to Giovanni for a good filet
setsail Posted February 10, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2015 (edited) Why, do both and make up your own mind. We ate in both a few weeks ago Edited February 10, 2015 by setsail
Clarea Posted February 10, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2015 I thought the filet at Giovanni's was excellent. I think it's a much better value than Chops.
DivineDivia Posted February 10, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 10, 2015 Nah, stick with Chops. You can go to Giovanni's for lunch for cheaper if you want to give it a try b
Duke Mazer Posted February 10, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 10, 2015 Chop for sure. Found the filet at Giovanni good but chops was better more flavorful
sauvichick Posted February 11, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 11, 2015 We ate the filet at Giovanni's and had the short ribs on Chops. Although we knew people had complained about the new Chops menu, we didn't care. We enjoyed both out meals immensely. Remember the Giovanni's lunch menu differs from the dinner one. readytolose Posted February 11, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 11, 2015 My experience was with Allure not Oasis, but we had a much better meal at Chops versus Giovanni's. I ordered the filet at both restaurants and the one at Chops was so tender you could practically cut it with a spoon. Giovanni's was dry and over cooked. One of our pasta dishes tasted like Chef Boyardee. I was really surprised because I had been reading so many comments about how Chops has declined and how awesome Giovanni's is so I was shocked when our Chops meal was our favorite of the whole cruise and Giovanni's was rated towards the bottom. I guess the only thing to do is try them both and see which one you prefer!
Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted February 11, 2015 #8 Share Posted February 11, 2015 (edited) My experience is on the Allure we dined twice in Chops and twice in Giovanni's...the first time in Chops we thought it was just a bad night off day....we tried it again and was disappointed...we prefer Giovanni's all 7 of us adults. Even the steak in Giovanni's was better than Chops! Edited February 11, 2015 by lyndamr
Valiamo Posted February 11, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 11, 2015 We are currently on the Oasis, and have eaten at Chops twice, and Giovanni's once. We found the atmosphere much better at Chops, as was the food. Giovanni's was crowded and noisy, while Chops was much more subdued. Both had good food, but we personally enjoyed Chops better., loved the 9 oz New Yorker. Go on the second night, and they usually have a 50% off sale.
