JOANN226 Posted February 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2015 I want to give my sister and brother in law that are cruising with us and I always send them money for the casino, this is my first Royal Caribbean cruise and I can't find it on the website. Would love some help with this. Thanks Joann
Rocketlady Posted February 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2015 Not sure what you are asking. Just hand them the money when you go on the ship. You don't buy anything to get money to play at the casino. That is one place you use your money not your card. Which is good. People might rack up a huge bill otherwise. I was in the casino every day on a cruise a couple weeks ago.
Rare LMaxwell Posted February 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2015 It just comes up as OBC. So you can prepurchase on board credit for them
Rare JessyCruises Posted February 12, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 12, 2015 I think the problem with buyout them on OBC is that when they try to take it out as cash at the casino, they are going to be charged the 5% withdrawal fee. Might be better to just give them cash?
SC_Floaters Posted February 12, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 12, 2015 Another 'GIVE THEM THE CASH' If you give them a $100 on board credit, They will only get $95 cash withdrawal in the casino.....

papaflamingo Posted February 12, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 12, 2015 I don't gamble (not that I have a problem with it, I just always lose). But I thought the cashout fee was 3%. Did it go up to 5%? Also can't you use your seapass at the slots or to buy chips? I thought you could get $100 in chips for a $100 charge to your seapass account. Then if you cash out the chips you are charged the fee. So if someone had OBC they could gamble it and if they lose, no fee, if they win, they pay the fee. Or am I totally confused? Some machines have slots for the SeaPass card to enable you to earn "points", acting like a player's card.
Rare orville99 Posted February 12, 2015 #10 Share Posted February 12, 2015 Not sure if they do this any more, but in the past we've called Gifts & Gear directly and purchased casino credit as a gift for our kids. What they received was a card in their stateroom that they took to the cashier in the casino to redeem. They didn't get charged any fee.

Cash is king. Give them cash
