cstrick Posted February 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2015 We are flying from Atlanta to the Netherlands then on to Stockholm. We have a 1 hour layover. Will this be enough ?
CruiserBruce Posted February 16, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2015 Assuming in AMS. It will be tight, but if no issues, you will make it. Remember most flights from the US arrive at the same general time. So everyone, including you, will be going thru Passport check. Fortunately you don't have to claim your bags, unless using one of the low cost carriers.
fbgd Posted February 17, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 17, 2015 Airport? Airlines? Ticketing arrangements? (one or separate) Details help provide useful answers.
Ine Posted February 17, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 17, 2015 You will have to pass pasportcontrol in Amsterdam, your luggage will go through if all is booked on the same ticket. It is short but can be done if there is no delay. Often there is a special short connection desk, so look for that too.
headhunterke Posted February 17, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 17, 2015 AMS is a big airport. And although its good layout and good signage, you have a fair chance of running from one end of the airport to the other. You'll pass passport control, but also a security checkpoint. I don't know what time you'll be arriving, but at times a lot of TATL flight arrive, things can get very busy. Try to get seats as close to the front as possible on your ATL-AMS flight. But for further details we need your airline, ticket arrangements (seperate tickets or not), time of arrival, etc...
CruiserBruce Posted February 17, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 17, 2015 As the OP is coming out of Atlanta, assume Delta or it's affiliates, or KLM. But my crystal is not working. ...
cstrick Posted February 17, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted February 17, 2015 We are flying from Atlanta to Schipol. Then we are going from Schipol to Ard. It will be on one ticket. Thanks for your responses.
cstrick Posted February 17, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted February 17, 2015 Sorry, the flights are on Delta and partners.
Rare FlyerTalker Posted February 17, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 17, 2015 Delta and partners...not as clear as mud but... I'm going to assume that the TATL segment is operated by DL (operated being the key part). If so, the flight will arrive on the E pier. Intra-Europe flights can depart from B,C or D, so the OP will have to make their way to the main terminal area down from the E gate, take a left and head towards the Schengen section of the airport. There will be passport control along with a security screening. At times, there is a "short connection" line - if you meet the posted parameters, that may be a bit faster. I would suggest looking at the terminal maps at the Schiphol website to get a better idea of what you will face. They also give normal walking times from various points.
