"LIVE" from the Oasis of the Seas - February 21, 2015

We have Oasis booked for December for our first Oasis cruise. We have an oceanview balcony on the hump deck 8. Normally I pick deck 6/7 as I have issues with vertigo. I know people laugh...why a cruise? I love to cruise, but my body doesn't. I get dizzy on land lol.

Anxious to hear what you think of the location of your room and how much you feel the ship movement.

Good morning! Welcome to day 2! We are pulling into Nassau, and I have lots of photos to share from yesterday. Had a great dinner at Sabor.

The ultimate margaritas are awesome!

The chicken jalapeño bites wrapped in bacon are to die for...

We like deck 6 -- easy to take the stairs to promenade, MDR, and two flights up to Central Park. We only take the elevators to the pool deck 😄 not a lot of movement so far

You totally rock for posting this. When you disembark, we will be embarking! This is the perfect report to get me through the next 7 days!

Ok so I will def be calling the Hilton tomorrow (staying at the same hotel) and making sure our marina view is in fact THAT! How was the shuttle? We booked the cruise package so breakfast and shuttle are included.

Also checked out Bimini Boatyard menu...DH was sold on the Florida Stone Crabs! Thanks for a recommendation!!

Enjoy and be safe! Can't wait to read more!

The shuttle worked out well. We always take a taxi, because I don't like the idea of waiting for shuttles to fill up and being cramped like sardines. There were only 9 people on our shuttle. Included breakfast is a great value, since the buffet was $18 PP!

Packing is completed and I'm ready to hit the hay in order to be top of my game at 0 dark thirty. Thanks to those of you already following along for all the nice comments!

My poor pups have been following me around all evening. For all you pet lovers out there, I'm sure you can relate. As soon as the suitcases come out, they become Klingons in anticipation of your departure.

I'm fortunate to have an awesome dog sitter who is also a vet tech. 👍 Ready for this vacation to begin and feeling great about the fact that all of mine will be well taken care of while we are gone!

Great pics.. Please see my previous question on this thread. "are there drink prices on all of the bar menus? 18% tip? Thanks.

I'll look for some drink menus and report back. I only know the piña coda is now $12.00. I don't believe the pool bar menu had any prices!

Random thoughts, observations, tips and tidbits thus far.....

--I found a menu at the pool bar. Frozen drinks are $10. I'm not sure why mine is $12. Perhaps because it's an " ultimate" and I requested Meyers Rum? 😯 I'll try and take a photo and upload.

--gratuity is in fact 18% on beverages.

--pool towel sign out with your sea pass card is alive and well on Oasis 😁. The pool towel station is right next to the smoking area. They probably could have placed the station in a better area-I've already heard people complaining about the smoke and stinky towels, and only because I was sitting there having a cigarette! 😂 For what it's worth, I find the smoking areas to be adequate. Didn't spend any time in the casino last night, so can't report on that yet.

--The H20 zone also has a towel station. No smoking over there.

- speaking of smoke, our bar server informed us yesterday that when we are docked in St. Maarten they will be refueling and closing the pool decks off to smokers. Guess that means casino will be the only spot....yikes!

--there was a huge line for breakfast this morning in the windjammer. I may boycott the windjammer this week. We went to Johnny Rockets for breakfast at 8 and there were very few people there. IMPORTANT TIP: Johnny Rockets offers cooked to order eggs and omelets. Do not order your eggs scrambled, or you will be served the powdered, ice creme scoop Windjammer eggs! 😝

-- I'm not sure my buy one, get one half off C & A coupons are working properly. Ordered two premium domestic beers, $6.00 each, got a $1.50 discount on the second beverage

-- this could be a result of one of our C & A statuses being screwed up. I got two letters indicating the discount in the cabin, one say Emerald, one says D Plus...oh well, the three free beverages each night are working, and I've got better things to do than make an appointment with the loyalty ambassador for a few bucks .

-- they apparently did not acquire new pillows when Oasis when into dry dock. The pancakes in the windjammer are fluffier! I've had to order three pillows for each of us. Our cabin attendant has been wonderful. Ice twice a day, and even got my extra pillows when I left him a little sticky note this morning. No paper or pens in the room anymore...pack some post its!

-- wifi is lightning fast. DSIL says FaceTime worked well over wifi.

Nassau photos...enjoying beautiful weather, and plenty of sunshine...

Aqua theatre this morning

There are the nice folding chairs with cup holders alternating rows with bench seating. The folding chairs are more comfortable, but it is easier to take photos from the bench seating because of the railing...
