Possible new NCL cruiser, but question.....

We are looking at booking our 1st NCL cruise, but I have a question. I have tried searching, but could not find what I was looking for.

If we book the cruise under the promotion they are running, we would get the UBP. Only my hubby would use it since I only drink water (99% of the time), but do I have to purchase the UBP? I am just confused on if the promotion is for everyone in the stateroom or just 1 person. We would have 3 of us, hubby, myself & our 18 yr old daughter. I see where it says everyone under 21 is required to purchase the soda package, which is absolutely ridiculous since my daughter doesn't touch soda with a 10 foot pole.

If we are required to purchase these packages, that would be an absolute deal breaker for us.

The first 2 people in the room get the UBP. The 3rd gets unlimited soda package I believe. So you will have it, too, even if you don't use it. Unlimited alcohol packages typically (across all lines I have seen) require all guests over 21 in the cabin to purchase the package. But you'll have it for free. So it's basically the only time you can get the UBP for your husband to use without having to pay for yours, too, since both are free.

All packages would be FREE you wouldn't be paying for them just because you chose the UBP plan for your husband. All included in the promotion.

If it were me I would choose either the OBC or the dining package and let my husband just pay for any drinks. That way, everyone would benefit. You have a choice of either of the three options unless you're considering a suite, in which case you get all three.

You will want to read the terms and conditions of the promo you are booking under:

Thank you guys!! Exactly what I was looking for. Hubby would definitely get his money's worth from the UBP. I was concerned about having to purchase the UBP for me and the soda package for our daughter. Both of those would have been a complete waste of money and would have been the decision maker in booking NCL and RCCL. (We love Royal, but want to try NCL).

I did see they were also offering the OBC and the UDP, but we figured up that getting hubby the UBP would benefit us the most. We plan to get a mini-suite, so that would have only offered a $100 OBC. Our daughter is the pickiest eater in the family, so I don't know if the UDP would be good for us or not. I figured the MDR would probably have the best selections as far as her taste goes. I'm not very familiar with NCL yet, but I'm trying to read everything I can here on CC. :)

As a picky eater, the UDP sounds great to me. Then if I don't like what is on the menu in the MDR any given night I can have the freedom to choose to eat elsewhere with a menu more to my liking.

You get to choose 2 with the mini suite- UBP, UDP, and/or OBC. Definitely check out (and have your daughter check out) the NCL food porn thread! It solidified that my picky self will be WELL fed and gave me an idea of what premium dining options I want to try.

Hm, I guess choose any 2 is only for certain itineraries. My mistake.
