pansoup81 Posted February 22, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2015 We are leaving from the Jacksonville port in May. What are some good hotels to check into that do the shuttle to and from port? I know I could do a google search for this but figured some personal recommendations would help me a little more than google. Thanks
KroozFoolz Posted February 22, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2015 Jacksonville Plaza Hotel and Suites http://www.jacksonvilleplazahotel.com/parkflysailsave.php Another suggestion - Most hotels offering cruise packages will be close to the Jacksonville airport. If you have a favorite chain/brand of hotel, check to see if they have a property near JAX, and then check to see if it offers a cruise package with parking and shuttle. I expect this will get moved to the Florida departures board.

I expect this will get moved to the Florida departures board. We stayed here in January. I don't recommend it. The shuttle service they use is unreliable in my opinion. They tried to bump us to 1:30pm (we were signed up for the 12:30pm shuttle) - because the ship "was late" to port. I hoped online and found that there were no delays and the port also told when we got there that they were running on time. The shuttle service they use also services the Best Western and Quality Inn at that same exit. I think they were just stretched thin. They were magically able to accommodate us again once I told them we would be making alternate arrangements to get to port. Aside from that, the rooms are pretty outdated and there was peeling wallpaper in our bathroom. The bedroom was at least clean and the bed comfortable. your mileage may vary from ours. Rare Tapi Posted February 22, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 22, 2015 We did the Marriott Spring Hill Suites by the airport. Fairly new, modern hotel with large rooms, complimentary full hot breakfast, and restaurants within walking distance.
Rare Lois R Posted February 22, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 22, 2015 (edited) Hi, there are at least a dozen hotels at the airport. The Springhill Suites is definitely nice......there is a row of hotels near it......some of them are, Fairfield Inn, Comforts Suites, Residence Inn, Wyngate Inn, Microtel, and Aloft...these are just a few........ Here is a link to Visit Jacksonville......click on the link for "where to stay" and type in Airport/Northside and a list will pop up. You could call them individually and ask if they offer shuttles to the ship. http://www.visitjacksonville.com/where-to-stay/ Also, there is a Holiday Inn Express that is closer to the port. It is 5 miles from the terminal. It is this one: http://www.ihg.com/holidayinnexpress/hotels/us/en/jacksonville/jaxsn/hoteldetail?qRef=sr&qDest=Jacksonville%2C+FL%2C+United+States&qRpn=1&qChld=0&qSrt=sBR&qSHp=1&qSmP=3&qIta=99504440&qGRM=0&qLng=-81.6558&qRdU=1&qRms=1&srb_u=1&qAdlt=1&qPSt=0&qFRA=1&qLat=30.3319&qRRSrt=rt&qRad=30&qRpp=12&qBrs=6c.hi.ex.rs.ic.cp.in.sb.cw.cv.ul.vn&qWch=0 Edited February 22, 2015 by Lois R
