What's in the Soda Machines?

I'm looking at the soda package for my teen boys. I have one that will drink soda, one that will not. The one that doesn't drink soda pretty much is a milk & water kid, but does like lemonade - not ice tea. He will drink apple juice, but not a lot of it. I read somewhere here that there was no complementary lemonade anywhere, just ice tea. Is there juice available all day anywhere?

 

What else comes out of the machines besides soda? Is there a fruit punch or anything non-carbonated? Trying to decide what this kid is going to drink for 7 days. While I am happy he doesn't like soda, it can be inconvenient sometimes.

 

Oh, not doing the bottled water package. He thinks bottled water tastes funny. haha

He will drink the Minute Maid stuff usually, and the Powerade. So I guess we will get him the package too.

They just about always serve lemonade and one or more different flavored water at the WindJammer all the time for FREE..... I really enjoy the flavored water. I find the lemonade a bit too 'sour' for my taste. But a little sugar added to it would fix that. We always carry out a glass or two back to the cabin for drinking later in the day.

Was just going to post it again in here, but no need for the full list now, unless someone else wants it.

 

I loved the machine so much, that I would love it at home. Have also found the machine in Burger King in London, so look out for it to try before the cruise.

Five Guys burger chain and Zaxby's chicken chain also have freestyle machines. I love them because you can get caffeine free diet coke.

To use the soda machines, do you have to walk around all day with whatever "mug" or container they give you if you buy a drink package?

The soda machines DO require the special (souvenir) glass for the machine to work. But if you don't have the glass to hand or don't want to carry it to get your drink, then you can still go to the bars and get coke or lemonade by the glass from them. This is of course dependant on the drinks package you have taken.

 

If you pick ONLY the drinks machine, then you will need to have the glass every time you want a drink. If you don't want to carry a plastic sports drink cup with lid to stop spillage, then buy drinks from the bar but have less choice and cost more.

If you pick the inclusive non-alcoholic drinks package then other drinks are available if the machine glass isn't to hand and you can't be bothered to go and get it.

 

I didn't find it a problem as I always would have a drink of some sort in my hand when on board anyway.

Where do they have the soda machine on Quantum? I guess by machine, they are 24 hours, right?

 

I am also debating whether to get the drink package or not.

This is part of the reason we didn't do the package on our cruise. I feel like you should be able to hold your WOWBand or Card to a sensor to fill up, but nope. I guess that would make it too easy to cheat the system.

So after you hold up your WOWband or card to the sensor, what are you filling up? A drink in your bare hands and lap at it like a cat?

NO, a cup! But hang on, I already have a drink cup (with a no spill lid) and I don't need a card or WOWBand to activate the machine.

 

Why are you making it harder on yourself?

Current way: Take cup to machine, press button, get drink.

Your way: Search area for a spare, unused, clean glass, that no one else had used before, make sure cup fits the slot on the machine, take it to the machine, find your seapass card, swipe card, push button, stop machine before it over fills wrong sized cup, get drink. Now have drink in one hand and card in other, need to find table to put drink down to put card away.
