Any advice for a family of 4 with a 5 and 8 year old?

Have a great time!

:D

Oh, and don't forget to join your roll call. There will likely be other families with kids during the summer, and that's a great way to get to know people before your cruise!

Yes, like Dina said: find and join your roll-call. That's where you'll get to meet the other folks you'll be cruising with. There will probably be others who've done that route before -- and, you may even find families, traveling with kids.

Also, take some time to check out Bermuda in a guide-book, tripadvisor, and the Ports-of-Call boards here. It's a big island, with lots of stuff (for adults and kids) to do -- and, you'll be there long enough (3 days) to really explore. Public transportation (ferries and buses) will get you just about anywhere you need to go -- and it's cheap, clean, and safe.

Have a great cruise!

Check out the late night slumber parties, kids love them and Mom and Dad get to spend some alone adult time.

Also, they have the Bermuda Harbour nights, held on Wednesday nights in Hamilton, lots of local stuff including food.

We've taken our two kids on the Summit to Bermuda three times over the past four years. They were 5 and 8 on our first trip in 2011. We love it. They love it. We're going to do a Southern Caribbean cruise this summer, but we'll probably return to Bermuda in 2016.

The first year, we visited BAMZ, the Aquarium and Zoo. We also visited St. George and Hamilton and spent the final day at Horseshoe Bay.

In 2013, we rented a Boston Whaler for a day. It was a huge hit with everyone. We visited Gibbs Hill Lighthouse and Crystal Caves.

Last year, we hired a private guide for one day, walked the beaches between Warwick Long Bay and Horseshoe, and then rented a pontoon boat.

And there are still lots of things remaining on our to-do list!

We also love the sea days and we never missed a scavenger hunt. My kids aren't too interested in the kids' club.

We have used Heidi Cowen twice. Her website is http://www.bermudafootsteps.com/. If you're on Facebook, search for her page there -- 'Byways Tours Bermuda'. She posts all sorts of great photos, weather reports and links.

Since we've been to Bermuda quite a few times, last summer we asked her to take us off the beaten path. We went to Southlands, an former estate now in ruins turned into a park, and Tom Moore's Jungle.

She has a van and brings along her dog Buddy, who is blind, on all tours. There were six of us last time, so we just booked her privately. With my girlfriend, there were only two of us, so we booked as a shared tour.
