cruisenfever Posted February 26, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2015 If the price drops after booking, if the money applied to OBC? Since May 17, 2010, price reductions are only honored up until final payment. After final payment, if a cabin category higher that what you have booked is priced the same as or lower than what you paid, you can request an upgrade. This applies only if the price reduction is not for "new bookings" only.
Clarea Posted February 26, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2015 The only exception after final payment date is if the price goes down within 48 hours of booking. Then Royal will give you 110% of the price drop as OBC.
cruisinfanatic Posted February 26, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 26, 2015 If the price drops after booking, if the money applied to OBC? If before final, they simply reprice the cruise. They do not offer obc
joybaby Posted February 26, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted February 26, 2015 If its before final payment yes if after final payment dont expect anything from rcl The other lines do the same thing. I am okay w/ that. Thanks.
Rare LMaxwell Posted February 27, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 27, 2015 If the price drops after booking, if the money applied to OBC? No. If you are before final payment they lower the price of the cruise. If you are after final payment they do not do anything (OBC or lower price). If you booked within the final payment window your booking is subject to their 48 hour price match guarantee.
willing292 Posted February 27, 2015 #8 Share Posted February 27, 2015 Just remember, you have to find the lower fare. RCI doesn't automatically reduce your fare.
LuCruise Posted February 28, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 28, 2015 Just remember, you have to find the lower fare. RCI doesn't automatically reduce your fare. I.e. You have to check yourself and give them a call if it drops. Also realize that if you got any extras on your initial booking such as OBC then you may lose this if it no longer applies. hellsop Posted March 1, 2015 #10 Share Posted March 1, 2015 I am wondering why people cannot just answer the question asked... Because question asked might be the wrong one.
TravelerThom Posted March 1, 2015 #11 Share Posted March 1, 2015 I am wondering why people cannot just answer the question asked...Because the short correct answer to:If the price drops after booking, if the money applied to OBC?Is: "NO" If the price drops after booking no money is applied to OBC. But people have provided far more info that 1) if you call before Final Payment date you can get your invoice price adjusted (but might lose some benefits) and 2) after Final Payment you may be able to use "excess funds" toward an upgrade. I would think the OP might appreciate this info more than just "NO"
twindaddy Posted March 1, 2015 #12 Share Posted March 1, 2015 I am wondering why people cannot just answer the question asked... this proves my hypothesis...please will get hostile in a cruise critic thread about ANY topic. Anything. People very nicely answered the question and provided more details about other scenarios. What are you mad about exactly?
