txchelle Posted February 27, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2015 We are cruising carnival freedom in September. I want to know if there is a beach y'all recommend to snorkel from. I have tried 2 times now and find I am comfortable not doing it off a boat
kfreder1 Posted February 28, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2015 In my experience, there is some great snorkeling right from the pier. We walked maybe five minutes and there was a place offering snuba or snorkeling. We rented gear and there is an old wreck a few minutes swim. There are some huge fish and tons of little ones of all colors. Best snorkeling and easy trip from the boat. No beach though.
Capt_BJ Posted February 28, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2015 EDEN Rock is walking distance about 1/4 mile from the main tender landing, turn right as you leave the terminal http://www.edenrockdive.com/ if you have your own equipment, snork' for free; or rental gear available Any others with you? 'cuz no beach ... a few chairs but not much else good snork' but BIG BOY sork' ... water is 20 to 30 deep .... no standing up. There will be boats in the area ... the site is popular with dive and snork' boat tours

lifes-a-beach Posted March 8, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 8, 2015 take a cab to cemetery beach. cemetery reef is easy swimming distance from the sand and there is plenty of shade. but be advised, that's all that's there. zero facilities. but the reef is amazing. Jey01 Posted March 9, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 9, 2015 Mitsugirly did y'all take a cab to smiths cove? We are staying on 7MB and plan to take the bus to the pier area and then maybe walk after that. Then stop at sunset on the way back and then maybe cab back to our hotel after that. They sound doable to y'all? Smiths just seems to good to pass up
buffy24 Posted March 9, 2015 #8 Share Posted March 9, 2015 txchelle: I second Smith's Cove. It is our favorite and have been there many times, usually when staying on the island. We usually rent a car for our stay and drive. You could take a cab or you could even rent a car for the day and go there. There is a rental location near the pier. Jey01: If you are staying on the island, you could rent a car for the day. There are some locations along 7 Mile Beach. There is one right across the street from our timeshare & the Comfort Suites. You should also consider checking out Rum Point.
