Beach bar in Nassau?

Hi

I'm going to Nassau on the Valor in September. I've never been there before and will be travelling with a few friends. Nassau is our first stop, but we are only there from 8:30am to 2pm, a pretty short time.

But, it will be my birthday that day and I would like to do something close to the port, since we wont have much time.

Is there a beach bar within reasonable distance of the dock?

We enjoy having a drink at the British Colonial Hilton- they have a patio and small beach.

Do we have to buy a pass or is there a "cover" charge? And, if so, do you know how much?

$65 day pass and includes $40 towards food and/or drinks.

Yeah, I think thats going to be our choice.

We dont have much time and it doesnt seem worth it to buy a day-pass for only 4 hours.

It is right near Senior Frogs- so some go to both.

Yes, you can get a drink at the bar or even lunch, but you can't use the beach or pool or even sit in the loungers. You'll need a pass for that.

My girl wants to check out the "Straw Market" (God help us!) and the bars probably dont open until 11am.

So we will make the perilous trek through the hyper-aggressive vendors for a few hours and then go calm our nerves with a cold adult beverage.

Looks like the majority of my birthday will be celebrated on the ship. In one form or another.

Junkanoo Beach has a few on the sand Beach Bars and drinks are less then the Hilton. Junkanoo is just pass the Hilton 15 minutes from the pier. You can rent beach loungers for 7.00 and they have beach waiters. :)

I don't read much about Junkaroo. Sounds like a beach to go for a couple of hours
