judithann423 Posted March 6, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 6, 2015 I am trying to get my husband to commit to a cruise on the Diamond. Can anyone please tell me where the smoking areas are so I can endeavour to find a convenient cabin nearby. Once I know this I can start the hard sell!!! Many thanks Judy
Kiwi Kruzer Posted March 7, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2015 I think they still allow smoking on the port side of the Lido deck , in which case a cabin on that deck would be OK. However there is a lot of traffic from the deck door to the lifts so it would pay to be away from that area. Also the door from the deck to the hallway is always being used and it slams shut really hard and loud. I note there is no smoking in the cabin or on balconies these days. yatchet Posted March 7, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 7, 2015 Two years ago, smoking port side Lido and aft (Out riggers bar) Churchill's bar, Skywalkers Stbd side in the evenings/nites and stb side Promenade deck in marked areas. I wouldn't worry about a cabin close to smoking areas, it only takes 5 mins to walk from one end of the ship to the other.
Rare MicCanberra Posted March 7, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 7, 2015 I was last on the Diamond in 2012, so it may have changed but there was an area by the pool (Lido deck) as well on the Promenade (both port side I think).:D from the FAQs Designated Smoking Areas Clearly marked “Designated Smoking Areas” are available onboard and include a sufficient number of ashtrays that are emptied regularly. Generally, these areas include cigar lounges, a section of the nightclub and casino, as well as a portion of the open decks. As a safety precaution, guests are reminded to properly dispose of cigarettes, cigars and pipe tobacco, which are never to be thrown overboard as this may be sucked back into the ship and cause fires. Izabelle Posted March 7, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 7, 2015 We were on the Diamond in December and our Daughter had her smoke stop on Promenade aft starboard side, first door out of club fusion....it was close by tender number 23, so if she rang our room it was to say see you by 23 and we knew what she meant. Rare Kinkacruiser Posted March 7, 2015 #8 Share Posted March 7, 2015 I'd choose a forward Lido....the open pool area. Outriggers bar may still have a small area portside. There's also a smoking area on the gym deck level (forward portside)...from memory that's the deck above Lido. Hope you manage to talk your husband into it :)
