mycruise2000 Posted March 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2015 Hello, Princess allows 1 bottle of wine per adult per cabin to be consumed in cabin only. Additional bottle will be charged $15 corkage fee per bottle and can be consumed anywhere. How does Princess know if the bottle is corkage free or corkage paid? Do they place a sticker or stamp the additional bottles so they can be consumed in main dining? Did anyone took wine to main dining after paying corkage? Thanks
Astro Flyer Posted March 10, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2015 I had a stamp but have also read they use stickers & I had no problems taking my bottle stamped with the Seawitch logo to the dining room.
Bogof1 Posted March 10, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2015 Will just say depending where you sail from have red in other posts on this matter that sometimes you can take on wine without corkage charged. Therefore if this happens and you take it to MD or any bar on ship you will be charged. On embarkation xtra wine will/should/may be stamped. Rare JimmyVWine Posted March 10, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2015 They will ask you which bottle you want to be your "free in the cabin" bottle, and it will not get stamped/stickered. If that bottle finds its way into a public venue, it you will be assessed the corkage fee for that one as well.
wrm1701 Posted March 10, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 10, 2015 Does anyone know why only wine is allowed? I would love to bring a nice bottle of a Belgian Abbey ale instead. Or what about mead? It is a "honey wine".

They could change the rule if you purchase the alcohol package (in advance of course) you could bring whatever you want onboard to drink in your room. Don't think that would EVER happen, as you could bring in booze for others who did not purchase the alcohol pkg.
