Which FLL rental car/Shuttle

Can anybody shed some light on the FLL rental car companies that provide a shuttle to the pier? Wondering about drop off, wait time, distance, and fee. I am Arriving in lauderdale a day early and visiting relatives. Considering a rental car. Help!:confused:

All of the major companies have locations for drop-off (as well as pick-up) close to Port Everglades. The closest is probably Dollar/Thrifty. Alamo/National is only out of FLL, I believe, but they do have a shuttle to/from the port if you show them your rental agreement.

 

I myself have dropped off a Budget rental (right in the Quay Center on 17th St), which is basically across the street from the north port entrance.

 

These shuttles are complimentary, plus a tip for baggage handling of course. I can only speak for Budget, but on both occasions they had one shuttle that did a continuous loop to/from the port. As far as time goes, it all depends on what pier your ship happens to be at, how many different ships they're dropping off at and how bad the traffic in the port is; I've seen it wide open and also horribly backed up at some piers. Always be generous when estimating your time for this process. It will also help if you drop off the people you're cruising with and ALL luggage before returning your rental.

"Alamo/National only shuttle from Airport. Must show return receipt to board shuttle. I use a big box store website and they often have incredible rates.

 

Hertz from Crown Plaza Hotel

Avis from Hyatt Pier 66

Budget on 17th in shopping center next to Renaissance Hotel

Sixt further up 17th.

Thrifty/Dollar just out western port exit."
