chill6x6 Posted March 19, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 19, 2015 So…. Are any of the aft-facing balcony cabins aboard the Summit preferred over the other?? Any of the balconies "better" than some of the others? Thanks for your help!
mferranti Posted March 19, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 19, 2015 Go for deck 7 if you have a choice.
Atwell Posted March 19, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 19, 2015 So….Are any of the aft-facing balcony cabins aboard the Summit preferred over the other?? Any of the balconies "better" than some of the others? Thanks for your help! Deck 8 is great, too. Deck 9 aft is right under the Oceanview Bar (with smoking allowed on the port side of the bar), so I personally would avoid those cabins.
Ozzmund Posted March 19, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 19, 2015 We have found starboard side cabins on either 7 or 8 (we preferred 8) for the reasons mentioned previously.
BourbonNBluesLuvr Posted March 19, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 19, 2015 The two on Deck 6 are quite nice !! :D BBL
Full90 Posted March 19, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 19, 2015 1140 or 1138 are great. Right above the bar. Decks are large and you get the music during sail away. Love it.
Klala Posted March 19, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 19, 2015 We have been in 8170 and loved it. We could hear the music and sail away which we loved. It was great for our trip to Bermuda. We had breakfast on the balcony nearly every day! We'd definitely book it again if we were on the Summit. :)
Maligator Posted March 19, 2015 #8 Share Posted March 19, 2015 I can't recommend the Family Verandas enough! :D You have (roughly) a 270-degree view. SAG041 by AV8PIX Hickory Shampoo, on Flickr
need2bespoiled Posted March 20, 2015 #9 Share Posted March 20, 2015 The two on Deck 6 are quite nice !! :D BBL I agree, the 2 deck 6 balconies are the best. Every other balcony pales in comparison. Happy sailing, Jenna
cruisin cubbie Posted March 20, 2015 #10 Share Posted March 20, 2015 Hi, We've been in 1138 and 1140. Fantastic!
Wickets Posted March 20, 2015 #11 Share Posted March 20, 2015 6148 needed a little work on teak decking when we were there in December, but real nice in the hot tub on sail always!
plimouth pilgrims Posted March 21, 2015 #12 Share Posted March 21, 2015 We booked an ocean view room for last December and upgraded to guarantee balcony. Our ta cautioned us saying it could be anywhere on the ship but we booked it anyway. I was thrilled to find we were aft on the 6th deck. Now I try and book aft cabins for all our cruises. BarbGar Posted March 21, 2015 #16 Share Posted March 21, 2015 Any of the balconies on the M ships have balconies, besides for the large suites?
need2bespoiled Posted March 21, 2015 #17 Share Posted March 21, 2015 Any of the balconies on the M ships have balconies, besides for the large suites? Hoping I'm answering the correct question, the answer is only the FVs as in the pic have lounge chairs. I don't believe any others do. midwestchick Posted March 21, 2015 #18 Share Posted March 21, 2015 (edited) Are the FV rooms for families only or do couples book them. I've seen pictures before of these awesome balconies. Which 2 are on deck 6 that one of the posters mentioned? I don't know how much we would use them on port intensive cruises but they would be wonderful on cruises that have a lot of sea days. Someone on another thread mentioned just dropping her bucket down to the bar and having them fill it...made me laugh. :D Edited March 21, 2015 by midwestchick

Sometimes they hold them for 5 people until final payment and then release them but in our case they released a couple of FVs when they first released the itineraries. need2bespoiled Posted March 21, 2015 #24 Share Posted March 21, 2015 I have no idea what the price difference is between the FV and A1. Those two cabins being discussed as the "best on deck 6" are the two penthouses, the price from A1 to a PH is probably 3-7x as much.
