TerReuv Posted March 23, 2015 #26 Share Posted March 23, 2015 If they are going to get the passport cards they might as well pay a little extra and get the full fledged passport. This made me chuckle. Don't know about you, but almost $100 extra per person is not a "little extra"!
Rare sparks1093 Posted March 23, 2015 #27 Share Posted March 23, 2015 Where do you think Carnival got there info from?? I doubt they would post something that is incorrect about travel documentation. Thats' the thing- I don't know where CCL got the information from, I can't find similar information on a government website. From where I sit they are posting something that is incorrect about travel documentation. The DHS regulations only allow the use of a birth certificate and government issued photo ID for closed loop cruises- those that start and end at the same US port. lovestocruise19 Posted March 23, 2015 Author #29 Share Posted March 23, 2015 My parents came over today and we booked the cruise! We told them the pros and cons of card vs. book and they have decided to get the full fledged book just in case there are any health issues in which they would need to fly home. Thanks for all the advice!

Bobby_Mac Posted March 23, 2015 #31 Share Posted March 23, 2015 Grest to hear. Get insurance for them too. Look up options other than CCL for what will for their needs.
