diamondella Posted March 25, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2015 (edited) I've read that it's possible to rent a Boston Whaler in Bermuda. Was wondering if anyone here has done that and if so what was your experience with it. We're seasoned boat owners and I think DH would rather do the driving himself, LOL! Thanks in advance Edited March 25, 2015 by diamondella found location of rental via google
flowers44 Posted March 25, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 25, 2015 I rented a Boston Whaler and a Pontoon boat from Somerset Water Sports two years ago. We had a group of 15 people in our party and we had a great time. My grandsons rented some fishing equipment from Somerset Water Sports and enjoy catching some very interesting fish. We drove around and stopped a couple of really nice beaches. One was full of other boats, the other one was totally deserted. We traveled back to Somerset Water Sports under the Somerset Drawbridge. We had really enjoyed out four hour rentals. The owners gave us a map of the area, told us where to go to see a ship wreak and feed fish, and were very helpful. Highly recommended. oceanswimmer Posted March 27, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 27, 2015 We also rented from Somerset last June when we went to Bermuda. They were great to deal with. There were 4 of us and I thought the Boston Whaler looked a little small so we rented one size up which was the pontoon boat. None of us are seasoned boaters but we had no trouble at all. My 18 yr old son loved driving the boat -- I think it was his favorite thing we did in Bermuda. The people at Somerset were just wonderful to deal with -- can't recommend them highly enough. flowers44 Posted March 27, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 27, 2015 Make your reservations early. They book up pretty fast. Call early so you can get it when you want to fit it into your schedule.
wwcruisers Posted March 28, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 28, 2015 A group on our Summit roll-call rented a Boston Whaler, last year. They had such a good time, that we regretted our decision not to join them!
PyrHeaven Posted March 28, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 28, 2015 I reserved a Boston Whaler with Somerset for our trip to Bermuda in May. It will be our first time renting. I've read rave reviews. Can't wait!
blue_water Posted March 28, 2015 #8 Share Posted March 28, 2015 (edited) We spent a week on Bermuda and took a jet ski excursion with Somerset and rented a whaler from H2O Watersports. H2O is located at the Cambridge Beaches Resort in Sandy's Parish (Mangrove Bay) and is a little closer to your port. Excellent service and a slightly larger boat for the price. They have a small store nearby as does Somerset. You will enjoy boating between the ocean and harbor and there are a few bridges you can use to go between the two. Also several small private islands for a nice lunch. Both outfits are top-notch but we highly recommend H2O. Enjoy your day whatever you go with! :) http://www.h2osportsbermuda.com/ http://www.gotobermuda.com/uploadedFiles/GetHere/MapsAndBrochures/SubContent/HR%20Map_JUNE2013_web.pdf Edited March 28, 2015 by blue_water
