smithius Posted March 26, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 26, 2015 We are taking our now 2.5 year old on a 15 night cruise when she will be 3. She will be too big of a playpen and has never slept with us in bed. What can I do to keep her from rolling out of her bed? I'd rather not have to pack a bunch of bed rails with us!
Tagong Posted March 26, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 26, 2015 We recently cruised with Disney and they were able to provide us with bed rails. I would call whomever you're sailing with and ask if these are something they offer.
OzCanuck Posted March 26, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 26, 2015 Google 'shrunks'. They have these awesome inflatable bed rails that we take everywhere. We also used them on NCL, but then our steward pointed out we could just ask for bed rails if we wanted them. Still, good for hotels and stuff. Our 3.5 yr old has never rolled over top of them.. Sooner-Cruisers Posted March 26, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 26, 2015 When our lo was 2, we had them put the crib pad on the floor and made her a pallet. My lo is 3 now, we never had an issue with rolling out of bed, if anything I'd just stick a pillow on either side.
cb at sea Posted March 27, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 27, 2015 (edited) On the floor, or roll up some towels (some will use a pool noodle!) and put them under the edge of the bottom sheet...does she fall out of bed at home a lot? If not...don't worry! If so, then put her on the floor...nowhere to fall! Edited March 27, 2015 by cb at sea
kitkat343 Posted March 27, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 27, 2015 Others have reported on this site that they have had success with turning a couch backwards facing the wall to create a bed for a small toddler. When our son was 3.5 he slept in a pull out couch without a problem (it was a bit lower than the bed and he was fine).
Lerin Posted March 27, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 27, 2015 What line are you on? Our 3-year-old did just fine in a pull down bunk which came with rails as well as a few other cruises on the couch/ bed. Of course she has never fallen out of bed anyway, so it wasn't a concern of ours.
Queen of Oakville Posted March 27, 2015 #8 Share Posted March 27, 2015 Yes, what line? X has the trundle beds, and the pullout is perfect for a little one.
