Miami port area for breakfeast

There's no real view of the north side of the port (where the ships pull in) from any street level restaurant. And the restaurants with a view on the upper floors of hotels along Biscayne Blvd will not be open early enough; taking the "drive of shame" home from South Beach along the McArthur Causeway one will see all the ships lined up in the channel for the turning basin around 5:00 to 5:30.

(But you do have the right idea, just no real way to execute it; would be nice to have a Denny's or IHOP overlooking the port as part of the mega-development plans on Watson Island)

on the other hand

not unusual for Miami cruise ships to still be heading in around 6:30 or later.... (check the web cam a couple of mornings . . .)

you COULD grab some takee-outee and head to the park at the very south end of South Beach which forms the north jetty of the channel entrance, find a park bench and watch . . .

I doubt Smith & Wollensky would mind you parking in their lot at that hour .... and I suspect there will be plenty of morning runners at al so you won't be alone.

A McMuffin and a McCoffee and you're all set!
