Brinchi Posted March 31, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2015 Which has the better snorkeling? The Champagne Catamaran with RCL or Coki Beach. Thanks!
ciera123 Posted March 31, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) I can't help with Coki because we always head over to St John. We love Honeymoon Beach to snorkel. There are always turtles, rays and fish to swim with, plus Honeymoon (or any beach on St John for that matter) is wonderful. zqvol Posted April 1, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 1, 2015 The trip will be better because you can snorkel in deeper water and get closer to better rock formations. Coki is nice, but too sandy, offshore is almost always better.
Mr. Bungle Posted April 2, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 2, 2015 I can only vouch for Coki. It's a good spot. The locals will give you dog biscuits to take out in the water to break up and the fish swarm you. There are good rock outcroppings that surround Coral World. The bathrooms are new as of a few years ago and there are several places to get food and drinks. The beach seems to be shrinking though due to the storms pulling the sand out to the ocean. The last time we went 2 years ago, the beach was very 'short', but the snorkeling was still good.
blue_water Posted April 2, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 2, 2015 Agree with zqvil and would avoid Coki simply because of the crowds in the water and also because of what Mr. Bungle said. For the best snorkeling off the beach is rarely as good as off the boat. I can't remember if the cat moors in Caneel Bay off Honeymoon Beach or another spot but that should offer the most variety. mrsfuzzmo Posted April 3, 2015 #6 Share Posted April 3, 2015 Have done both. Hands down Champagne cat for the better snorkeling experience!!
drmomto3kids Posted April 5, 2015 #7 Share Posted April 5, 2015 Coki is too crowded! We had chairs 4 rows behind others and couldn't enjoy ocean view when sitting there. We ordered lunch from a place there and it took 2 hours to get food.

Ms411 Posted April 5, 2015 #9 Share Posted April 5, 2015 Coki is very nice in the summer when there is only one ship in town.
