Assigned embarking times?

I saw a few posts that people mentioned "their scheduled embarkation time". Does RCI do that for all ships or just the big ones?

They do it for all...but ignore it. You can start boarding once the ship is cleared of departing vacationers. They will start boarding around 11:30 or so!

They send out texts for most ships about boarding at specific times based on deck numbers. Just ignore them, they're only trying to spread out the crowds.

 

With that said, I've also seen posts regarding the Quantum where you have an "Arrival Appointment" that you choose and are supposed to show up during that time. However, I don't know for sure, as I haven't sailed on her.
