FLBeachwalker Posted April 4, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2015 Just curious - what is done as far as asthetic improvements to the ship while undergoing dry dock? Will the floors and carpeting in the cabins be replaced? I certainly hope so - much needed! In fact, the entire ship needs new carpeting. As we will be sailing her right after dry dock I am hoping she sparkles :) Thank you for any info. Scary post about the mold in the cabin. We were on her last month and did not see any. In fact, we were amazed that the shower/toilet situation worked so well - super ventilation - no steam in the rest of the cabin at all! No "fragrances" either lol. Single Cruiser Posted April 4, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2015 (edited) They'll refurbish / replace carpets and fittings where needed. She's 5 years old and so anything that wouldn't last another 5 years until next dry dock gets swapped. We know fat cats is being converted to the Cavern. And the 3 weeks for overhauling the engine and mechanical repairs / scrubbing and re-painting the hull. Dry docks are for taking care of the outside. There may be some minor sprucing up inside, but they will not normally replace all the carpeting or flooring. That is considered regular maintenance and occurs weekly. I would be very surprised if you can even tell what carpet is replaced, if any is at all.
