Rare mking8288 Posted April 15, 2015 #26 Share Posted April 15, 2015 Not from any staterooms or even balconies, but smoker's paradise was also located on deck 7 FWD, starboard side as we're out there strolling around & taking pix - and ran into several pax catching their nicotine fixes. tumblew467 Posted April 15, 2015 #27 Share Posted April 15, 2015 The only inside place? Or the only place on the whole shop? starboard side by maltings bar is a cigar lounge area you can smoke and out on the waterfront there as well.
timmo44 Posted April 15, 2015 #28 Share Posted April 15, 2015 Here's a bit of a tricky one to find out. With the introduction of the 'pay the difference' for any drinks over $11 for folks on the UBP, what are the prices for the Ultra-Premium beverages like those seen on this menu that KeithJenner kindly posted from the Getaway: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yqu91kj9gog0mkn/Page%202.jpg?dl=0 And is Johnnie Walker Blue still available as that is the benchmark that Whisky drinkers usually go by where expensive ones are concerned? It's a question that's been asked a lot of times but never answered as far as my searches on Cruise Critic are concerned. Thanks
timmo44 Posted April 15, 2015 #29 Share Posted April 15, 2015 This is just what I needed...thanks for offering to answer questions. I have so many! What was your first impression of the ship? What have you been most impressed about? What were you disappointed about? So smoking is not allowed on The Waterfront anymore and only allowed in the casino? Is the Noodle bar open for lunch ever? Free or ala carte? How do you get tickets for Howling Moon? Are you eating at Ocean Blue? Is it Worth it? I am also wondering if they have drink menus at each of the bars? Celebrity just took their bar menus away and I missed them. Can you order extra appetizers at the specialty restaurants? Does the Ultimate Dining Package waive the extra $10.00 upcharge for the menu items in Le Bistro? Happy Cruising! Howl at the Moon is walk in, no tickets. It's like a late night bar/club/comedy venue.
megann831 Posted April 15, 2015 #30 Share Posted April 15, 2015 I heard something about a dock being built at GSC so the Breakaway would never miss it. Did that occur?
timmo44 Posted April 16, 2015 #31 Share Posted April 16, 2015 I heard something about a dock being built at GSC so the Breakaway would never miss it. Did that occur? I would think that the water round the island is too shallow for the ships to get anywhere near. We went Jetskiing here and several 100 yards out the lad running it dived in and picked up a starfish off of the seabed. So it was only 20ft deep or less. andy2032 Posted April 16, 2015 #32 Share Posted April 16, 2015 We will be on the Breakaway April 26, could you find out if the singers Arvin and Emily will be entertaining for the April 26 cruise?

macneill61 Posted April 18, 2015 #34 Share Posted April 18, 2015 is there a laundry room on the breakaway just starting to pack for my cruise next week and thought if there is one I could pack less and do laundry on a sea day
meatball_nyc Posted April 18, 2015 #35 Share Posted April 18, 2015 No laundry room on any NCL ships. You can send it out for a fee. Check your dailies when you board. Have a great cruise!
Rare sid_9169 Posted April 18, 2015 #36 Share Posted April 18, 2015 Please give accurate information. The UBP includes drink $11 and under. Starting in July the UBP will also give an $11 discount to any drink over $11. 6&8 I'm looking at the terms & conditions on the NCL website. It says nothing about July? "For all drinks over $11, guests just pay the difference." In a different section it says, "Any items over $11 will receive an $11 discount and the guest will be charged the difference to their account." Again, nothing about July... Starting in July the UBP will also give an $11 discount to any drink over $11. 6&8 Watch for room bill on drinks between $10 and $11... I was on Breakaway 2 weeks ago... I think that was week 2 or 3 of the new pricing... and several waiters told me it was $10 not $11... hopefully the system would have taken off all drinks under $11 anyway. The drinks go on your room bill and then magically disappear within 24 hours.

BrPanthers99 Posted April 19, 2015 Author #39 Share Posted April 19, 2015 Thank you for posting from the BA. It's always appreciated when there's so much to do on the ship. OP, are you using the ship's WiFi now or plan to/continue to use it for the rest of the cruise ?? Is it still offering the MB data plan - i.e. $59 for 800 MB ? Besides making (or announced plans for, soon to be) Shanghai Noodles a free option instead of specialty, a la carte venue - any other "specials" on the ship this week? Folks probably wanted to know about any specials for Cirque dinner show from Day 1 - discounts offered? It's all abroad time now, getting ready to sail to GSC overnight, enjoy the island tomorrow - especially if you can get on the first tender boat, priority or with shore-ex booked on the ship. You are docked at the new cruise terminal at PC, did you go ashore & how was getting off the gangway into the building & return to the ship, etc. - someone else wanted to know if there're plenty of taxis waiting outside to go over to Coca Beach? How much is the current fare for the shuttle to/from the beach on your own? These are good stories & update to share with all. Enjoy your evening ! I did not buy the Wifi, I was in Pt. Canaveral New cruise terminal in FL is nice, simply but nice. I think there were some taxis, Coco beach is 1-2 miles away

I've been on the ship twice( Bermuda Aug 13). I think that service is a little better and faster than the last time. Ship is still great. Surprising was how good Moderno was. Never did it in 4 NCL cruises. It's amazing Smoking on the Waterfront is only outside at the Fat Cats bar. Not really any issue. You can smoke in the casino, it's not that bad however compared to what it could be. Never ate at ocean blue. You can get a table whenever you want, it's pretty empty. The menu just does not do it for me personally. I always get 2 apps at the specialty restaurants. I had UDP. I think you would still pay the extra 10 in LeBistro. I saw someone get he steak for 2 carved table side and it looked amazing.

kayjaypea42 Posted April 19, 2015 #47 Share Posted April 19, 2015 Are there kids menus for the MDRs? I didn't go as I had the UDP, but my guess is yes. The MDR food is much more appealing with the new menu. I counted 14 entrees in the Manhattan room.
