Rare MistyRo76 Posted April 20, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2015 Taking our DD on her first cruise this fall. She'll be 14 months then. Just wondering about peoples' experiences with the cribs provided by Carnival. Do they bring them in at night only or can they be stored in the cabin during the day. Just concerned about taking up floor space during the day. Was initially thinking about taking our Pak N Play...but she's already starting to grow out of it and hubby doesn't want to drag it along. Also, how is the quality of the cribs/mattress...sturdy, comfortable, etc. Thanks, Misty
Rare Essiesmom Posted April 20, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2015 They are travel size cribs, not full size. And on some ships, what you get is a Pack n Play. EM

chadci Posted April 20, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 20, 2015 We had one last year on the Ecstasy and it was fine. We took along magnetic hooks and a nice looking shower curtain to hang around it for both privacy and to block light at nap time.
coppergoddess Posted April 20, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 20, 2015 Do you request the crib when you arrive on the ship? We are taking our DS on the Breeze in January and he will just have turned 1. I didn't see anywhere in the online Cruise Manager where I could request the crib.
Freckle53 Posted April 20, 2015 #6 Share Posted April 20, 2015 Here's a picture of the crib we had on the Pride. The inside was similar to a pack n' play size. Not even as big as a hotel crib, IME. It stayed in the room set up. Our just turned 2 year old would not sleep in it, but fortunately did great sleeping between us in bed (he had never slept with us before). katiedidthat Posted April 21, 2015 #7 Share Posted April 21, 2015 Another photo for comparison- this is the crib we had on the Pride, in a standard balcony room. We called and requested it ahead of time, they do run out if you're sailing during a busy time. The steward had it set up at turn down the first night and it stayed up the whole week. Our 13 month old slept fine in it, but they just wrap the mattress with full size sheets, so if you have a restless sleeper, you'll want to bring pack n play sheets. It did take up a good bit of floor space, but it was nice to have it ready for naps or to set him in while I showered, etc.

I assume that the wheels have pretty sturdy locks on them, correct? I'm just imagining a particularly rough sea and that crib rolling all over the cabin!
