cbusoh Posted April 22, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2015 We enjoy meeting new people and making new friends. We're in our late 40s, this is our second cruise. Last cruise we took was back in the 1990's on a much smaller ship. Back then, we made new friends and still kept in touch to this day, mostly on the first day at dinner. Never been on a ship this big and we selected My Time Dinning because it gives us the flexibility. I'm afraid they'll seat us with different people every night or just give us a table for two and we won't have the chance to meet and know others. For those experienced cruisers and those who've sailed bigger ships like this, other than meet and greet, what do you all suggest for ways to meet new people to hang out with and enjoy other activities on and off the ship? GUT2407 Posted April 22, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 22, 2015 1. Your Roll call 2. Diner 3. When you sit down, chat o those around you, at the bar at the buffet, at Trivia while waiting for a show. Boy I met some really nice people recently when picking people up from a cruise, these people were waiting to board, started to chat, after all we were obviously both at least interested in cruising, now keep in touch from time to time
mjmagee Posted April 22, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 22, 2015 Even with MTD you can ask to be seated at a large table with others. Then if you hit it off you can plan to eat together on subsequent nights.
mjmagee Posted April 22, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 22, 2015 Also, if your cruise is 5/17 of this year, we are on the same cruise. Come join the Meet and Mingle group. Here is the link to the roll-call (I think!) Marilyn http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2031560
