Denim shorts are never ok unless you're Daisy Dukes.

For dinner? Shorts are pretty much not ok except at the buffet or on the first night of the cruise. For lunch that would be fine.

If you are asking about lunch, we went there dressed in whatever we were wearing and were fine. Although we took our food to go so that may have been why we were so fine :)

For dinner it is the same dress code as the MDR. We very much enjoyed the Cucina and have gone there 5 times for dinner.

The specialty restaurants dress codes are the same as the MDR for both breakfast/lunch and dinner.

With my third cruise, I threw that out the window. I saw enough guys wearing sleeveless shirts, basketball shorts, and whatever else, I started wearing khaki shorts to the MDR. Think Bermuda shorts but not quite that long. No one ever said a word.

 

Cruise attire is a Hawaiian shirt and khaki shorts. The louder the shirt the better. ;)
